MOVIE REVIEWS: DISNEY’S A CHRISTMAS CAROL There’s little harmony among critics assessing the latest cinematic version of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. (Actually, this one is called Disney’s A Christmas Carol.) KATZENBERG CALLS 3-D TRUCE It’s one thing for monsters to battle aliens; it’s quite another for both of them to battle an avatar – especially in 3-D, DreamWorks Animation chief Jeffrey Katzenberg suggested Wednesday. Speaking at the Goldman Sachs media conference in New York, Katzenberg said that his studio had decided to move the release of its 3-D feature Monsters vs. Aliensup two months to March 27, 2009, just ahead of the Easter holiday, from May 15 so that it would not have to compete against James Cameron’s 3-D feature Avatar, which is scheduled to open on May 22....

The CW has revealed our first look at Tyler Hoechlin in his new Superman suit for the upcoming spinoff series Superman & Lois. Although we’ve previously seen Hoechlin’s take on the character make his debut in the Arrowverse series Supergirl, the spinoff will update his red-and-blue tights with a few cosmetic changes to help make Superman look his best moving forward. Hoechlin has also spoken about his new suit in a statement along with the need to develop a new outfit for his new show....

Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard will star opposite Channing Tatum in Dito Montiel’s action drama Fighting, which begins production on location in New York City next week for Rogue Pictures. Kevin Misher is producing Fighting through his Misher Films. Rogue co-presidents Andrew Karpen and Andrew Rona made the announcement today. Fighting is a rough-hewn heroic tale about realizing dreams of glory, putting audiences ringside at high-stakes underground street fights. Terrifier 2 has made more waves in the horror world than any other movie of the last decade. The movie’s success has been beyond anything expected of what could have been just another crowd-funded film. Instead, Terrifier 2 has currently taken over $11.2 million at the box office from its $250,000 budget. That means that Terrifier 3 is most definitely on the cards, and writer/director Damien Leone has promised that the sequel won’t be holding back....

Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Terry Crews has reportedly been tapped to host the syndicated game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, following the departure of host Cedric the Entertainer earlier today. While a deal isn’t officially finalized, Terry Crews reportedly came to an agreement to host the show last week. If a deal does become official, it is unclear how that will affect his role on Fox’s hit comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which was renewed for a second season following its Golden Globe win for Best Comedy Series in January....

A new teaser trailer has been released for That ’90s Show, and in honor of the occasion, the producers are revealing how the spinoff was developed. For those who remember, That ’90s Show is not the first spinoff to That ’70s Show, as there was an ill-fated series called That ’80s Show that quickly came and went in 2002. That may have played a part in creators Bonnie and Terry Turner feeling leery about rebooting That ’70s Show when Netflix first approached the two about doing the spinoff set in the 1990s....

Ryan Reynolds’ deal with Netflix is looking better all the time for the streamer as his latest movie The Adam Project has jumped straight to the third position on the streamer’s list of all-time best debuts. According to the hours-watched metric that Netflix introduced in November, The Adam Project opened with 92.4 million hours viewed over its first three days, putting it behind another Reynolds movie, Red Notice and Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up....

Well, unfortunately for Sophia Bush and Zachary Knighton, they eventually picked him up - wrong move, because the guy, Sean Bean, turns out to be a crazy killer....

In a story from Variety, producers Sarah Siegel-Magness and Gary Magness (Precious) next project is going to be Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer. The film will be based on the popular children’s book series. John Schultz (Aliens in the Attic) is going to direct from an adapted script by Kathy Waugh and Megan McDonald (who authored the books). Shooting is slated to start in August in Los Angeles....

For one, we got to see more actual filming on this set than I ever had on any previous set visits. I don’t get to visit comedy sets too often and many of the sets I do go on are big budget affairs with complicated set-ups that take up a lot of time. The most complicated thing I saw on the set was director Jay Roach rehearsing a split-second shot which involved a tray of champagne glasses spilling and breaking on the floor, and we also got to see Roach show off his juggling skills while they were setting up the champagne trays....

Get ready, DC fans. We’re about to go back to the world of Shazam!. Warner Bros. and DC Films are set to release the sequel to the hit Zachary Levi-led sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods in theaters this winter. The first Shazam! film told the story of young Billy Batson (Asher Angel), who received the ability to transform into an adult superhero, all by saying the titular “Shazam!” While the first film was primarily devoted to setting up Billy’s new life as Shazam and introducing enemies, the sequel will have a chance to explore that lore even further, with Billy facing off against new and greater threats as he learns and grows as a superhero....

A sequel to Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is a go, and lead actor Simu Liu took to social media to display his excited reaction to the news. “Flopped so hard we got a sequel!!” the actor, who will return as the MCU’s martial arts master in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 2 said, referring to the naysayers who believed that the first movie would perform badly at the box office....

It seems that Universal Pictures may have to find another Huntsman for Snow White and the Huntsman, since talks have broken down with Viggo Mortensen. We reported in January that Viggo Mortensen had signed onto play the Huntsman, a character who is originally hired to kill Snow White and then becomes her mentor and protector as they team up to defeat her evil stepmother. It seems Universal and Viggo Mortensen were so far apart that talks completely broke down, which lead to rumors he could play the villain in Superman....
