Revivals are all the rage at the moment, mostly thanks to a number of streaming giants desperate to create content that is guaranteed to gain and hold onto new subscribers. Adding to the likes of Dexter and the reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, rumors have suggested that another popular series returning to screens could be HBO’s Six Feet Under. However, fans who are hoping to see the return of Fisher & Sons Funeral Home may be left disappointed as HBO boss Casey Bloys shot down the suggestion that there are talks in progress to bring the series back....

You can bring three recent Disney classics home in 1080p this June. Sling Blade, Miracle and The Greatest Game Ever Played will all be released on Blu-ray on July 17. The studios maintained that under its under their proposal, which they titled a New Economic Partnership, writers would receive more than $130 million in additional compensation over three years....

2006: THE DAWNING OF I-NEWSMoving the nightly news from the television screen to handheld devices may transform the TV newscasts far more significantly than changing formats or anchors, network news executives and analysts have indicated. “I’m not convinced that you have to change the format of an evening news broadcast to get people to watch,” NBC Nightly News producer John Rease told today’s (Tuesday) USA Today. “People still like to get 30 minutes of news and perspective each day; the problem is enough of them aren’t home at 6:30 to watch it,” he said....

It was a photo-finish at the box office this holiday weekend, with Friday-Sunday estimates initially indicating that Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had each taken in $42.5 million. However, the final result, released early today (Monday) put transformers ahead with $42.4 million to Ice Age’s $41.6 million. CNN, FOX NEWS RETURN FREEBEES A report by Condé Nast’s Portfoliomagazine last week that both CNN and Fox News, among other news outlets, had allowed its reporters to go on an all-expense-paid junket to Las Vegas has resulted in the two cable networks reimbursing the expenses to the junket’s sponsors, JetBlue Airlines and the quirky local-news website Thrillist, Portfolioreported Monday.
