Sky High is a 2005 family superhero film directed by Mike Mitchell. It stars Michael Angarano as Will Stronghold, a teenager who attends a high school for superheroes. Despite the setting, the plot has many elements of a classic teen movie, as misfit Will becomes popular after developing his powers, growing distant from his old friends as he pursues his dream girl. The movie ends with a supervillain reveal and a battle on the night of the homecoming dance, combining the superhero and high school genres....

Miles Morales will do battle with The Spot in Sony’s upcoming animated sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The Z-list villain was revealed to be the main antagonist of the Spider-Verse follow-up courtesy of the movie’s official Twitter account, with a piece of promotional art offering our first look at The Spot in action. Moonrise Kingdom and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World star Jason Schwartzman will provide the voice of Jonathan Ohnn AKA The Spot, with the artwork coming alongside the caption, “Meet The Spot, Miles Morales’s most formidable foe yet....

It looks like SpongeBob SquarePants is going to bring the Bubble Bowl to the masses. A few sports journalists prepping for the Super Bowl spotted a video screen with SpongeBob in his Bubble Bowl outfit while Maroon 5 was rehearsing for the halftime show. There has been a lot of talk about the halftime show going downhill over the years and some controversy surrounding the musical selection this year, so the NFL is probably banking on SpongeBob to save the day....

A critically-acclaimed but short-lived show is being resurrected on DVD. Sports Night: The Complete Series - 10th Anniversary Edition is coming to DVD on September 30. This new eight-disc set will be priced at $69.99 and will include special features, unlike the bare-bones Sports Night: The Complete Series set that was released in 2002. The series starred Peter Krause, Josh Charles, Felicity Huffman and Robert Guillaume. Sport’s Night, a three time Emmy Award-winning series, turned avid audiences on their ears and eyes for two captivating seasons....

Universal has assembled some star power for Strays, a new live-action-CGI hybrid comedy following talking dogs. Will Ferrell, Jamie Foxx, and Will Forte have picked up roles as the lead characters for the movie, which is geared towards adult audiences. Dan Perrault (American Vandal) penned the screenplay with Josh Greenbaum (Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar) on board to direct. Strays follows an abandoned dog who teams up with other strays to get revenge on his former owner....

BAD NEWS FOR NEWSPAPERS, TV Like a doctor receiving a dire diagnosis of his own illness, the newspaper business got more unwelcome news Monday with a research paper from the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press revealing that more Americans now get more of their news about national and international matters from the Internet than they do from newspapers. The report said that 40 percent of Americans depend on the Internet for news (up from 24 percent in September 2007), while 35 percent rely on newspapers....

KING IS RATINGS KING AGAIN – THANKS TO PARIS People may grumble at all the media attention lavished on Paris Hilton, but they nevertheless scampered to their TV sets to watch her on CNN’s Larry King LiveWednesday night, giving the show its best ratings in almost two years and forcing Fox News Channel into second place. The Hilton interview drew more than 3.2 million viewers (to FNC’s 2.6 million), astonishingly nearly half of them in the 25-54 year-old demographic....
