Actor Derek Mears is strapping on the hockey mask and killing teens in the next Friday the 13th! It’s All Hallows’ Eve this week, and what better way to celebrate than talking to Jason Voorhees himself, Derek Mears. For the first time in his career, actor-turned-stuntman Mears is donning Jason’s iconic hockey mask and taking to the woods for some trademark teen chopping antics. Last Friday the 13th, we were invited to the set of Marcus Nispel’s new Friday the 13th film, which is being produced by Brad Fuller and Andrew Form of Platinum Dunes....

Warner Home Video is releasing Sex and the City: The Complete Collection on October 26. This new 20-disc set will contain all 94 episodes from the popular HBO series and also the two feature films - Sex and the City: The Movie and Sex and the City 2. Filmmaker Shane Black has signed onto direct the manga adaptation Death Note for Warner Bros. Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry are currently writing the script. The project is based off the manga series written by Tsugumi Ôba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. The story revolves around a college student named Light who finds a mysterious notebook which has the unique power to kill anyone whose name is written in it. When the student uses his newfound power to rid the streets of criminals, he is pursued by an FBI criminologist....

She-Hulk: Attorney At Law received mixed-to-positive reviews initially despite heavy review-bombing. The show had a clever and strong start, releasing a breath of fresh air into the MCU’s tired-out Phase 4 by departing from the franchise’s standard style of action and comedy, with plenty of lovable characters, new and old, to go with Tatiana Maslany’s Jen Walters/She-Hulk. But that didn’t last very long. Very quickly, almost as soon as episode three, the fresh air was blown away....

The description of the latest episode of Smallville reveals that the Toyman, a classic Superman villain from the comics will be the latest character to get the Smallville treatment. The description of Requiem provided by The CW announces that LuthorCorp will come under attack from the old-school supervillain. The description reads: Fans of the comics will recognize Winslow Schott, a disgruntled toymaker, as being the alter-ego of The Toyman. Although considered by many to be one of Superman’s campier villains, the Toymaker has been battling the Man of Steel since 1943 in the pages of the DC Comic, and he has appeared in most of the television adaptations of Superman as well....

With this weekend’s #1 release of The Pursuit of Happyness, Sony Pictures Entertainment’s box office receipts for 2006 have passed $1.573 billion, setting a new motion picture industry record for domestic box-office in a single year, it was announced by Jeff Blake, chairman, worldwide marketing and distribution for the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group and vice chairman of SPE. In passing the industry record, which Sony set in 2002, the studio caps an extraordinary year in which SPE released a record-breaking 13 #1 films....

Lionsgate is speeding up the release of one of their most popular titles. In a story from TV Shows On DVD, they announce that Speed Racer - Collector’s Edition Vol 5 drives into stores October 31st for $19.98. The fifth and final volume of the classic Japanese anime series [is] a must-have for Speed Racer fans and anime fans. Includes the most exciting final 8 episodes from the original TV series never before on DVD!...

Rumors have been circulating in the last few weeks about Spider-Man: No Way Home having the longest runtime of any previous Spider-Man movie, and while that still stands, new information has suggested that it may be even longer than expected. According to information that appeared for a short while on Brazilian website Ingresso, the movie will be clocking in at 159 minutes, which is 9 minutes longer than previously reported. While this time is still to be officially confirmed, and the time has since been removed from the site, it once again raises the expectation that we are going to get an epic conclusion to the MCU’s Spider-Man trilogy, which is set to deliver us fully into the Marvel multiverse....

Lee Jung-Jae is headed to a galaxy far, far away with the new Star Wars Disney+ series, The Acolyte. A Deadline report confirmed the news on Sept. 8, as the actor prepares for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards next week. Jung-Jae rose to global stardom last year when he starred in Squid Game as Seong Gi-hun, the main character of the series, which shattered records for Netflix and streaming in general....

Star Trek: The Original Series - Season 1 hits the shelves in a remastered new 10-disc HD DVD/DVD Hybrid set today (11/20), but it has just been announced that Season 2 will get the same treatment, and will be released on March 25. This set will be another HD DVD/DVD Hybrid set, but it isn’t clear how many discs will be in the set. The series starred William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, James Doohan and George Takei....

During last night’s Season 6 episode of Mad Men, “The Quality of Mercy”, the ad firms of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce and Cutler Gleason and Chaough finalized their merger and became Sterling Cooper & Partners. Today, AMC issued the very press release written by Peggy Olsen (Elisabeth Moss) in the episode “For Immediate Release” six weeks ago, to celebrate this merger. After Strange World wound up costing Disney quite a bit of money by bombing at the box office, the movie will soon be offered to watch at home for Disney+ subscribers. Following a family of legendary explorers on the ultimate mission, the film opened up in theaters on Nov. 23, and for the most part, the reviews were positive. But ticket sales were far below what Disney had projected, grossing less than $51 million worldwide....

In a story from Variety Summit Entertainment has picked up the film Next Day Air from Melee Entertainment. Paramount Pictures will release the film on May 8. Life isn’t going smoothly for Leo Jackson. He still lives at home, he just broke up with his girlfriend and he’s had so many complaints about his sloppy work habits that his own mother is threatening to fire him. But Leo isn’t one to let a few bad breaks ruins his day-as long as he’s got plenty of weed to take his mind off his troubles....
