Sam Worthington, Sienna Miller, and Jamie Campbell Bower have joined Kevin Costner’s next directorial feature, Horizon. Costner will be stepping behind the camera for the first time in nearly two decades and will also star in, write, produce, and self-finance Horizon. Warner Bros/New Line Cinema will distribute the film. The plot synopsis for Horizon (via Deadline) reads: Horizon will be the first of a trilogy and was previously envisioned as a TV series and a four-part movie....

Sammo Hung will star in War Monkeys, a horror comedy from the indie arm of Dark Horse Films. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin Munroe (TMNT) is in negotiations to direct the film for Dark Horse Indie. The horror comedy follows two janitors who, during a Christmas holiday, get trapped in an underground research facility after accidentally unleashing military-trained Rhesus monkeys. Hung is one of the janitors who battles the rabid simians....

IFC Films has released the second trailer and a new poster for About Cherry (formerly known as Cherry), author Stephen Elliott’s directorial debut arriving on VOD platforms August 9 before its theatrical release September 21. Ashley Hinshaw stars as Angelica, a young woman who leaves her family in Los Angeles behind and gets sucked into the world of adult entertainment. Following the move from The Orville to its new streaming home at Hulu, where it has been dubbed The Orville: New Horizons, the future of the sci-fi series remains unclear. For the fans of the series, the hope is that enough people will be tuning in to encourage a season renewal for more episodes at Hulu. Series creator Seth MacFarlane has been open about wanting to do more seasons but has noted that this will be up to Disney to decide....

The upcoming horror film Glorious might change the way you see public restrooms. Set to start streaming on Shudder on Aug. 18, Glorious stars Ryan Kwanten (True Blood) as a man whose stop at a rest area bathroom quickly gets bizarre after he meets someone… or something… from the other side of a mysterious hole, voiced by J.K. Sting recreated the Jeopardy! theme in his own way during a special appearance on the popular show, and fans of the “Every Breath You Take” singer are loving the rendition. On Thursday’s edition of Jeopardy!, a “Sting” category was introduced for contestants to answer trivia questions about his life and career. Introducing each clue was Sting himself, and his appearance also included playing the tune of the show’s instrumental theme song along with some new lyrics....

The Duffer Brothers are already working on Stranger Things season 4. Netflix has yet to officially announce the follow up to the recently released season 3, but the show’s creators are hard at work on what comes next and it could end up being a lot different from what we’ve seen previously. Street Outlaws: Fastest in America driver and star Ryan Fellows died in a car accident early Sunday morning at 41. TMZ reports the tragedy occurred just outside Las Vegas while racing another driver in what was the 8th out of 9 races to be completed that day. Fellows was in a gold Nissan 240z and lost control near the finish line. Ryan’s vehicle began to roll and catch fire; unfortunately, no one could get him out in time....

SAG: THE LATEST ACT In the latest round of chess-like maneuvering, the Screen Actors Guild’s board voted for a second time to fire former national executive director Doug Allen and replace its negotiating committee with a task force. The board had performed the same act by “written assent” last month, prompting SAG President Alan Rosenberg, a longtime booster of Allen, to file a lawsuit in an attempt to nullify the action....

LOWEST-RATED NET NBC LANDS $1-BILLION AD DEAL Nearly a month after the networks’ upfront presentation of their fall schedule to advertisers, the first major deal was announced Wednesday – a nearly $1-billion pact between the media investment holding company Group M (MediaCom, Mediaedge:cia, MindShare and Maxus) and NBC Universal (NBC, USA Network, Sci Fi Channel, Bravo, and Telemundo). Analysts noted that although ad buyers ordinarily engage in furious dealmaking within days following the upfront presentation, they have waited far longer than usual this year – and the first major one has been struck not with the network with the most appealing programming and demographics but with the network with the least desirable....

Sylvester Stallone has had quite a career, but in his decades playing gung-ho hero’s like John Rambo and The Expendables’ Barney Ross he has never taken on the role of a major superhero, something he says is down to the way he looks. Stallone has been no stranger to comic-book movies, but when asked about being almost cast in Richard Donner’s original Superman movie, the Rocky star told THR: Stallone has played characters who are “not the main guy” in both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe, and he did play the lead in low-key superhero movie Samaritan, so while he has never been cast in the roles of the likes of Batman or Superman, that “crooked mouth” has delivered many iconic lines in the other parts that he has played over the last five decades....

Even without Arnold, the Terminator franchise is most certainly back. According to Variety, the premiere episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles scored the highest opening-night ratings of any new show in three years. The show nabbed an outstanding 7.6 rating/18 share amongst the 18-49 adult demographic, and scored 18.3 million viewers for the show’s debut, according to the Nielsen ratings service. The scripted show’s success only accentuates the need for scripted programming while the networks try to make due with reality programming during the writers’ strike....

For almost 10 years, the sitcom That ‘70s Show chronicled the adventures of six teenagers learning about life and love, and trying to stave off boredom in small-town Wisconsin during the 1970s.
