It’s official: The Boondock Saints III is happening. The third installment of what will become a trilogy was announced on Monday by Deadline along with word that director Troy Duffy, who helmed the first two movies, will be back in the director’s chair. Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery are also both set to return as vigilante brothers Connor and Murphy MacManus. Shaun Redick (Get Out, BlacKkKlansman) and Yvette Yates Redick of Impossible Dream Entertainment are producing The Boondock Saints III with Don Carmody (Goodwill Hunting) and Troy Duffy....

We reported last week that Tony Gilroy was directing The Bourne Legacy and now Hollywood Elsewhere is now reporting that Matt Damon will not be starring in the movie. Independence Day is the day to thank Homelander for keeping American safe according to Vought International, the fictional corporation that’s responsible for creating superheroes as seen in The Boys. On the official Vought International account on Twitter, an image of Homelander was posted along with a message praising the patriotic superhero. The message declares that no one is better at defending the country than the Antony Starr-played “Supe” and that America is prospering, despite what anyone else says....

We’ve got an update on the Creepshow TV series. We first learned that the classic horror anthology is being brought to the small screen last summer, courtesy of the horror-centric streaming service Shudder. Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead) is in charge of the series but, like any production, it takes a number of talented people to get the job done. One of those voices being brought in to help with directing duties on season 1 is Roxanne Benjamin, and she was kind enough to give us a little bit about it....

Ocean’s Eleven’s Scott Caan has signed on for the role of Danny “Danno” Williams on CBS’ updated remake of Hawaii Five-O. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new Hawaii Five-O hails from CBS Studios, Star Trek writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and CSI: NY executive producer Peter Lenkov, and centers on an elite branch of the Hawaii State Police headed by Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin). Williams, who was played by James MacArthur on the original series, is a New Jersey cop who has recently undergone an acrimonious divorce and has transferred to Hawaii to be near his 7-year-old daughter....

Just a few weeks away from the premiere of Scream 4, and a day after the filmmaker said he isn’t making another A Nightmare on Elm Street, Wes Craven is talking even more about the possibility of Scream 5 and Scream 6. The sequel to the critically acclaimed thriller, Searching, has now been given a release date. Released in 2018, Searching follows a father (John Cho) trying to find his missing 16-year-old daughter and is entirely composed of footage from computer screens, smartphones, and webcams, with the sequel, Missing, expected to follow the same format. Independent production company Paramyth Films has announced that Ed O’Ross, Shannon Elizabeth, Annabella Sciorra, George Finn and Alessandra Torresani will star in the upcoming film, A Green Story. Written and directed by Paramyth’s, Nika Agiashvili, A Green Story chronicles the life of Van Vlahakis, a Greek immigrant who arrived in America with only $22 in his pocket and eventually founded the multi-million dollar green company, Earth Friendly Products. O’Ross stars as the modern day Vlahakis, who is misdiagnosed with cancer and given two months to live....

Dev Patel, star of the 2008 smash hit Slumdog Millionaire and The Green Knight, reportedly broke up a knife fight in Australia late Monday night, according to the country’s 7News. The incident occurred between a man and woman who fought in the street and a convenience store before the man was stabbed in the chest. He’s expected to survive. The pair knew each other, according to South Australia Police, saying the attack was not random....

In a story from Variety, Steven Spielberg will not be directing Harvey. He had been developing the picture, which would have been his first since DreamWorks split from Paramount. Spielberg told 20th Century Fox the news this week. The studio had set aside sound-stages on the lot as the production was to commence in early 2010 production. Fox was going to have DreamWorks finance 50% of production via its new funding relationship with Reliance....
