David Harbour can’t seem to spit out the word “grandma” in the Stranger Things season 3 blooper reel. In addition to the single scene, Netflix has teased that more are on the way next week. For a show that’s full of so much doom and gloom, it’s nice to see that they had fun while making it. That’s not to say that the show doesn’t have its own humor because it certainly does, it just means that there is a lot more of a horror element than comedy....

PAULA ABDUL HAS A JOB AGAIN After weeks of rumors that went nowhere, Paula Abdul has finally signed a deal – even though it’s limited to one night. She’ll host VH1 Divason September 17. The live concert will also include performances by Kelly Clarkson, winner of American Idol’s first season, and Jordin Sparks, the season six winner, the channel said. Adele, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus have also been announced as performers on the show, which will be televised from the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in Brooklyn, NY....

TV WATCHING ON THE INCREASE Another indication that the recession is requiring people to spend more time at home, rather than going to restaurants and entertainment venues, comes from a report by the Nielsen Co. concluding that television viewing in the fourth quarter reached an all-time high. Its “Three Screen Report” (TV, PCs, mobile devices) said that during the quarter the average American watched more than 151 hours of TV a month, up 3....

EVEN WITH OSCARS, ABC CAN’T BEAT FOX’S IDOL Despite recording the highest ratings of the season for entertainment shows with the Academy Awards telecast and Grey’s Anatomy, ABC was nevertheless unable to overcome competition from three American Idoltelecasts on Fox that dominated five hours of primetime last week. In overall numbers, Fox led with an average 8.7 rating and a 14 share. ABC settled for second place with an 8.1/13. CBS placed third with a 7....

CBS announced today a February premiere date for the next Survivor and ordered two more editions of the series for broadcast during the 2012-2013 season. The broadcasts next season will mark the 25th and 26th editions of television’s longest-running hit reality competition series. Emmy Award winner Jeff Probst will return as host and executive producer for all three upcoming cycles. Probst has hosted Survivor since its inception in May 2000....

Oliver Stone has found both his Condoleezza Rice and his Tony Blair for the upcoming Bush biopic W. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Thandie Newton will portray the National Security Advisor-turned-Secretary of State Rice, while it is Ioan Gruffudd that has decided to step into the shoes of former British prime minister Blair. Other cast members that have signed on include Josh Brolin, James Cromwell, Elizabeth Banks and Ellen Burstyn. They will play George W....

Thanks to events like DC FanDome and the fact that it seems to have been in production forever, we already know quite a bit about The Batman, the Matt Reeves directed movie that has promised to bring a dark, gritty and, above all else, younger Dark Knight than we have previously seen on the big screen. However, Warner Bros. has now released an official synopsis for the movie, and although it doesn’t give away anything about the plot that we don’t already know, it does hammer home the message that this is going to be a brutal standalone story, outside of the DCEU....

Revenge movies led by female characters have been a thing for decades now, and are starting to become more popular as time goes on. Horror movies usually end with there being a “final-girl”, the lone babysitter that managed to get away, while her friends were terrorized and slaughtered. Now, things have started to shift, and thriller/horrors are developing a new take to what revenge can be. Whether it’s revenge for a loved one, or getting justice for themselves, women in these roles don’t go down without a fight, and are admired for their agility and strength, both physically and mentally....

We’ve all been there before, haven’t we? In a shocking turn of events, Perry Moore, producer behind The Chronicles of Narnia trilogy, was found dead on the floor of his apartment bathroom Thursday morning. A cause of death hasn’t been confirmed at this time, but it is being reported that the 39 year-old passed away from an apparent Oxycontin overdose. Hunter Hill, Perry Moore’s live-in partner and co-director on their Sissy Spacek drama Lake City, found the body at 9:30 a....

Starz in association with Sony Pictures Television has announced today that Sam Heughan will play the role of Jamie Fraser in the original series Outlander, adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling books, which will premiere on Starz in 2014. The chivalrous young Scottish warrior, Jamie Fraser, has been adored worldwide by fans of the seven-book series that has sold more than 20 million copies and has graced the New York Times best-sellers list six times....

During the Star Trek universe panel that took place Saturday, July 23rd, 2022, the trailer for Star Trek: Lower Decks season three was unveiled! In addition to more hints about what might take place in the wake of the arrest of USS Cerritos Captain Carol Freeman (Dawnn Lewis) at the conclusion of the animated comedy’s second season, the trailer also confirmed that we’d be revisiting the eponymous setting of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine....

The second season of HBO’s Euphoria, which premiered in January of this year, smashed ratings records and became the most-watched series premiere on HBO Max. The Weinstein Company announced today that it has acquired from Exclusive Media Group the U.S. distribution rights to So Undercover, an action comedy starring Miley Cyrus (The Last Song, Hannah Montana, LOL). The film, which was fully financed by Exclusive, is directed by Tom Vaughan (What Happens in Vegas), with a screenplay co-written by Allan Loeb (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, 21) and Steven Pearl. Along with Exclusive, the film is being produced by Loeb and Pearl through their company, Scarlet Fire Entertainment and by Tish Cyrus (The Last Song, LOL)....

Wednesday’s Star Trek Day streaming event brought a lot of joy to Trekkies around the world with numerous announcements, trailers and special appearances by the stars of the sci-fi franchise. Among the big reveal, Sir Patrick Stewart appeared to introduce the trailer for the second season of Star Trek: Picard, which follows on from his triumphant first season return as Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation. The trailer announced the new season will kick off on Paramount+ in February 2022, and not only that but season three has already been given the green light....

LucasFilm has released a deleted scene from Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, which can be found on the upcoming high-def set Star Wars: The Complete Saga hitting Blu-ray shelves everywhere on September 16.
