Starz has cast several roles for the upcoming half-hour scripted comedy series Survivor’s Remorse from LeBron James, Tom Werner, Mike O’Malley, Maverick Carter and Paul Wachter. The network announced today that Jessie T. Usher (Level Up) has been cast in the role of Cam Calloway, RonReaco Lee (Glory, Let’s Stay Together) has been cast as Reggie Vaughn, Erica Ash (Scary Movie V, Real Husbands of Hollywood) has been cast as M-Chuck, the sister of Cam Calloway, Tichina Arnold (Martin, Everybody Hates Chris) has been cast as Cassie, Cam’s mother....

Netflix’s highly-anticipated Stranger Things Season 2 is just around the corner, and today we have new details from two returning cast members, and one newcomer. Stars Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington) and new casting addition Dacre Montgomery (Billy) recently spoke about their favorite guest star to emerge this season, and some of the 1980s “homework” that the Duffer Brothers gave them. Unfortunately, the actors wouldn’t shed any light on the Stranger Things Season 2 cliffhanger that the Duffer Brothers teased on the Emmy Awards red carpet, but we do get some interesting story details below....

Two new songs from legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan will be featured in the second season of Cinemax’s Emmy-nominated action drama series Strike Back, which begins Aug. 17. Both previously unreleased songs appear on Dylan’s upcoming album “Tempest,” to be released Sept. 11, marking his 50th anniversary as a recording artist and his 35th studio release. “It’s an honor for Cinemax to showcase Bob Dylan’s exciting new music in his 50th anniversary year,” says Kary Antholis, president, Cinemax Programming and HBO Miniseries....

STORMY WEATHER AT BOX OFFICE The Dark Knight’s reign as the box-office leader ended propitiously over the weekend as it raked in an additional $16.8 million to become the second-highest grossing film of all time domestically. It has now taken in $471.5 million. Over the past 30 years, the previous No. 2, the original Star Wars,had taken in $461 million. The all-time champ is 1997’s Titanicwith $601 million. Although it opened with a much smaller gross than Knight, Titaniccontinued to average around $35 million weekly through its first three months of release....

The complaint charges that in 2004, Cuban avoided losing $750,000 by selling stock in Momma.com after he became aware through inside information that the website would have a public offering that was likely to devalue its existing stock price....

ABC TO AIR 9/11 MINISERIES SANS ADS ABC has decided its miniseries The Path to 9/11 is so controversial and sensitive that it plans to air it next week without commercials, Daily Varietyreported today (Tuesday), citing ABC Entertainment President Steve McPherson. The trade publication said that the network had considered airing it with limited commercial interruption, as it did with Saving Private Ryan, which was presented by Ford. “The creative [content] was so limiting,” McPherson said, that “in the end we didn’t think it was appropriate....

The CW has brought on former Smallville star Erica Durance to portray the integral character Alura Zor-El in Supergirl Season 3. Laura Benanti has portrayed Kara Zor-El’s birth mother Alura since the first season, but the actress is also a popular Broadway performer, and now commitments to her stage work in New York have forced her to bow out of the role. The series premiere of FX’s newest drama, The Americans, has been set for Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT. It is not unfair to say more than a few people were quite eager to see Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League, and they had their chance when the 4-hour epic finally debuted on HBO Max last year. While it was reported that the film was indeed a big draw to the streaming platform, it is only now that we are finding out how big and only because Warner Bros. seems to want it known that The Batman has absolutely smashed Justice League’s viewer numbers for its first week on release....

Film historian, television host and Hollywood Reporter columnist Robert Osborne has been selected as the Academy’s 2006 red carpet celebrity greeter, Academy President Sid Ganis announced today. Osborne will step into the slot occupied for the past four decades by Daily Variety columnist Army Archerd, who has stepped down and this year will himself be a celebrity guest of the Academy at the 78th Academy Awards. In addition to writing a column for the Hollywood Reporter, Osborne is the prime time host of Turner Classic Movies and a frequent host of Academy events, both in New York and Los Angeles....

The comedy License To Wed, starring Robin Williams (RV), Mandy Moore (Saved!) and John Krasinski (NBC’s The Office) has begun production for Warner Bros. Pictures, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures. The film follows newly engaged Ben Murphy (John Krasinski) and his fiancee Sadie Jones (Mandy Moore), who’s always dreamed of getting married in a traditional wedding at her family church. The problem is, St. Augustine’s only has one wedding slot available in the next two years, and its charismatic pastor Reverend Frank (Robin Williams) won’t bless Ben and Sadie’s union until they pass his patented, foolproof, marriage-prep course....

MTV recently spoke with actor Ryan Reynolds, who’s having one hell of a 2009, starring in two of the 10 highest grossing films of the year with X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Proposal. The site asked him about playing the lead in two upcoming superhero films, Green Lantern and Deadpool. Here’s what he had to say about Green Lantern below.
