The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) has announced the tentative agreement between the guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) has been approved by SAG’s national board of director’s. Here’s the full press release below. The Screen Actors Guild National Board of Directors today voted 53.38 percent to 46.62 percent to approve and recommend to members, new, two-year successor agreements to the 2005 Producer-Screen Actors Guild Codified Basic Agreement and 2005 Screen Actors Guild Television Agreement....

It has been a very long time coming, but finally, Samurai Jack fans can look forward to a much deserved fifth season of the show, which will arrive very soon. Adult Swim has been teasing us for quite some time about the new season, but they have finally revealed the firm premiere date for the long-awaited revival. We can now definitively say that Samurai Jack season 5 is officially set to debut on Saturday, March 11....

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced the 17 winners of Scientific and Technical Academy Awards, which will be presented at The Beverly Hilton on Saturday, February 18. Awards Administration Director Rich Miller said that unlike other Academy Awards, achievements receiving Scientific and Technical Awards do not have to have been developed and introduced during 2005. “Devices are only considered by the Scientific and Technical Awards Committee if they have a proven track record of continued successful use in the film industry,” Miller said....

Miramax Films has released the second trailer for the upcoming drama Last Night, which will hit theaters on May 6. Have you seen the Youtube video of the rabies baby. It shows an infant infected with the horrible disease, and it is quite disturbing. The clip has become a viral hit amongst horror fans. And it was used for inspiration by the cast members of Roy Lee’s upcoming American adaptation of the hit Spanish horror film Rec. John Erick Dowdle is directing this new thriller, entitled Quarantine. The film has an ensemble cast that includes Jennifer Carpenter, Jay Hernandez, Columbus Short, Greg Germann, Steve Harris, Dania Ramirez, Rade Sherbedgia, and Jonathon Schaech....

The summer of thirds continues. We’ve had Spider-Man 3 so far, which is in the running for biggest disappointment of the year, the third Pirates film is coming up and should be a blast, and we have Ocean’s 13 and The Bourne Ultimatum rounding out the group of thirds. This monster month of May continues with Shrek The Third, and thankfully we have our first enjoyable film of the summer. Fans of the first two movies will flock to this one in great anticipation....

Production has begun on Star Wars Rebels, an exciting, all-new animated television series based on one of the greatest entertainment franchises of all time. A&E Network presents Stephen King’s Bag of Bones, a four-hour epic miniseries based on The New York Times #1 bestselling novel, and featuring Pierce Brosnan’s return to television. Soon after Steve Fossett’s personal belongings were discovered in the California Mountains, The Discovery Channel announced that they would produce a documentary special on the missing billionaire explorer. According to Variety, a day hiker named Preston Morrow had come across a number of items that belonged to Fossett, and he convinced some of the nearby Mammoth Lake townsfolk to go searching for the billionaire. Steve Searles, star of LMNO Productions The Bear Whisperer, which airs on the Discovery Channel, and an LMNO cameraman were invited to tag along as Morrow and the others went looking for Fossett....

BIG, FAT BOX OFFICE FOR NORBIT Norbit,starring Eddie Murphy in three roles, including a fat lady, displayed more heft at the box office than originally estimated, raking in $34.2 million, according to final figures released by Media by Numbers Monday. By the same token, Hannibal Risingtook in less than the studio’s estimate, winding up with just $13.1 million. Overall, the box office continued to show strain, falling 7 percent below the comparable weekend a year ago....

FCC: CABLE MUST CONTINUE ANALOG TRANSMISSIONS The FCC has ruled that cable-TV providers must provide subscribers with older analog-only TV sets analog versions of programs transmitted by broadcast TV stations after they are ordered to switch to digital-only transmissions in February 2009. The unanimous ruling would be in effect for three years but could be renewed at the end of that period. The National Cable & Telecommunications Assn., representing the cable companies, had threatened to sue the FCC if the commission instituted its original proposal to establish “must-carry analog” in perpetuity....

The announcement that Chris Pratt would be leading the new animated Super Mario Bros. movie was met with a mixed reaction, and led to many memes full of Pratt’s face and “It’s-a-me, Mario” tags. However, the movie’s co-producer Chris Meledandri has jumped to the defense of the casting, insisting that the actor’s voice is not a thick-accented parody of the Italian accent and fans should be ready to be blown away by the performance when the film is released....

Supernatural stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jensen Ackles, and Jared Padalecki got matching tattoos this past weekend. The three friends were together over the weekend for Morgan’s surprise wedding to Hilarie Burton. Ackles performed the ceremony along with Morgan’s Walking Dead co-star Norman Reedus and a big party ensued afterwards. It has not been confirmed, but it looks like the tattoos may have been done before or after the wedding ceremony by looking at what they’re all wearing and drinking....

Sylvester Stallone, who is out in San Diego promoting his upcoming sequel The Expendables 2 while at Comic-Con 2012, was struck with sad news this afternoon when he learned that his son, Sage Stallone, had passed away. The actor-filmmaker was 36 years of age at the time of his passing. A cause of death has not been confirmed, but Sage’s body was found in his Los Angeles apartment, with a bottle of pills recovered from the scene....

Disney Channel has ordered Raven’s Home, the That’s So Raven spin-off, continuing the story of the award-winning family comedy that resonated with kids, tweens and families around the world. Production on the multicamera series is set to begin this month in Los Angeles for a scheduled premiere in 2017. Starring are the previously announced Raven-Symone and Anneliese van der Pol, who will reprise their roles as best friends Raven Baxter and Chelsea Daniels....
