When Stranger Things premiered back in July 2016, there was no way we could have predicted the smash hit it would become. So much so that, nowadays, as we await the fifth and final season of this production created and produced by the Duffer Brothers, the Netflix original series is on everyone’s lips, and continues to garner fans around the world, who take to social media to discuss their theories and expectations for the series finale....

As one of the streaming giant’s flagship series, the nostalgic sci-fi horror show has attracted record viewership for the platform over the past six years and continues to break records today. While it is almost a given these days that most horror monsters are created with the use of CGI, many big productions have been investing more in practical effects and returning to practices that made movies like Jurassic Park and Aliens groundbreaking movies of their time that still hold up today. Although CGI can have stunning results, such as in the creation of Thanos in the MCU or Gollum in Lord of The Rings, there are many more examples where it just falls flat....

B’BUSTER BLUE IT, INVESTORS SAY OF CIRCUIT CITY OFFER Investors apparently don’t believe that Blockbuster’s deal to buy Circuit City is going to materialize. Not only are Blockbuster’s shares down to a 52-week low but Circuit City’s shares fell on Tuesday as well, closing at $4.86 – well of the $6.00 that Blockbuster said it would offer. Several analysts suggested that the real winner out of the brouhaha over the big blue stores’ pursuit of Circuit City will be Netflix, the online video renter....

REPORT: IT’S A DONE DEAL AS RUPE ACQUIRES WSJ Rupert Murdoch has completed negotiations to acquire Dow Jones, publisher of the Wall Street Journal, for $5 billion, the British magazine The Businessreported today (Friday), citing sources acting for Dow Jones in the negotiations. The magazine said that a formal announcement is expected to be made next week. The report indicated that the deal includes a legally enforceable agreement aimed at guaranteeing the editorial independence of the Journal....

Supernatural is currently airing its 12th season on The CW, making it one of the longest-running scripted shows at the moment, and it is showing no signs of stopping. The show started airing in 2005 when the network was still The WB, with Smallville still going strong at the time as well. It turns out that there was a Supernatural and Smallville crossover that almost happened and the writers had a pretty great idea for it....

In its 15 Seasons run, Supernatural has had many familiar elements that fans of the show are well aware of like Dean’s inherent love for pie and his Baby, the running jokes about Sam’s hair, etc. Another such trope is Dean’s continued woes with Sam for “abandoning” his family and its hunting ways to go off to college years ago. As the series inches towards its finale, it is finally explaining details and providing backstories, like how Sam had been planning to join a college for years before he took the big step and Dean knew all about it....

When Bruce Willis announced that he would be retiring from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia earlier this year, many of the action hero’s former co-stars came out in a show of support for him. Among them was Sylvester Stallone, who appeared with Willis in The Expendables franchise. During Stallone’s recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the star commented on Willis’ struggle and how it “kills him” to see it happening to someone he considers a close friend....

The synopsis for the upcoming Bob’s Burgers Movie has finally been revealed. On Monday night’s National College Championship Football Game, the first trailer for the project will be released. In anticipation for the preview, the movie’s production company 20th Century Studios unveiled a description for the film’s overall plot. According to the summary, Bob and Linda Belcher will deal with problems at the restaurant that could end up ruining their summer....

Mark Ruffalo begins work on The Avengers today, Friday April 29th, the same day his directorial debut Sympathy for Delicious opens in theaters. While promoting that drama, he opened up a little bit more about playing both Bruce Banner and Hulk. When asked if he was, in fact, playing both parts, the actor confirmed that yes, he will be playing both Banner and Hulk. He also went onto describe what Hulk will look like when he appears on screen next summer....

Warner Bros. has released a supercut of all The Big Bang Theory weddings. The video release lands on the one-year anniversary of when the cast taped their final episode. In addition, star Kunal Nayyar posted a picture on social media to celebrate this anniversary. Fans have missed seeing the characters that they watched over the span of 12 seasons and 279 episodes, though they can always go back and re-watch everything now that we all have a lot of time on our hands....

Showtime has picked up a second season of its hit drama series The Borgias, it was announced today by David Nevins, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc. The series, which debuted earlier this month to critical and audience acclaim, delivered the best ratings for a new Showtime drama series in seven years and attracted 3.71 million viewers across multiple platforms (On Demand, replays and DVR) during its premiere week. Season-to-date, The Borgias is pacing ahead of The Tudors season four, the series’ highest rated season ever....

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns with an all-new episode this Tuesday, and following the events seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, everything changes. Rosario Dawson is planning to bring Gemini to television. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she will first star in The Gemini Division, an online live-action/motion-capture Sci fi series upon which the TV show will be based. Dawson is set to star in and produce both incarnations of the series. There are currently 100 three-minute episodes of the online version being produced at this time. Dawson stars as a New York cop who must investigate the murder of her own husband....

In Roseanne: The Complete Sixth Season, we once again get to see Roseanne, Dan, Becky, Darlene, D.J. and Jackie go through the growing pains that never seem to end even when you’re grown up. Change continues to abound as we move through this 25 episode set. Opening with “Two Down, One to Go” Darlene moves out but not in the way we’re used to seeing children leave the nest....

With the November 21 premiere date less than two weeks away, Hulu has released six new character posters for Marvel’s Runaways, which offer a unique glimpse at each character’s special abilities. Hulu has also released a new banner that features all of these characters together, although it remains to be seen if Hulu will release any new footage between now and the premiere. Hulu did release a new Runaways trailer at the end of October, but it remains to be seen if that will be the final footage released before the show’s debut....
