The streaming giant Hulu is constantly building up its diverse and exciting catalog of films and TV shows, treating viewers to a slew of content. With the month of June upon us, such platforms add many unique and captivating titles to its library that are sure to satisfy all your entertainment needs. While June doesn’t see the most new original movies across different streaming platforms, both beloved classic flicks and a few intriguing new releases are making their way to Hulu regardless, covering everything from treacherous tales of survival to feel-good ‘80s staples, and even uplifting sex dramedies....

The Good At the end of the day, it is easy to see why C.S. Lewis’s tale of young kids fighting for good ultimately swept up people at the box office. The Bad Something about these fantasy movies always confuses me a little bit. I had heard about the C.S. Lewis book upon which The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is based, and I had toyed with the idea of reading it before I saw the movie, but I decided not to because I didn’t want to know what was going to happen....

The earliest public screenings of Iron Man are now underway, and thanks to early reports it is confirmed that Samuel L. Jackson has a cameo appearance in the film as Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. Thanks to Moviehole we have a report of the final scene (which occurs after the credits) and that Jackson’s appearance sets up a possible Avengers movie. According to the report, after the credits are finished a forty-second or so long scene plays out....

You can bring home an interesting new horror film home on DVD this September. Sarah Landon and the Paranormal Hour will be released on DVD on September 9. The disc will be priced at $24.96 SRP. The film stars Alessandra Daniele, Rissa Walters and Brian Comrie Far away from home, in the small town of Pine Valley, Sarah Landon finds herself all alone, staying in the guesthouse of her late friend’s grandmother....

Producer Scott Mednick and writer-director David S. Ward are teaming up to develop a feature based on Margaret A. Weitekamp’s book Right Stuff Wrong Sex, about the secret women’s space program. According to Variety, the story follows the confrontation between two of aviation’s female titans, Jackie Cochran and Jerrie Cobb, in a battle to send the first woman into space. “This story is a compelling portrait of two incredibly driven women not only set against the creation and ultimate dismantling of the secret Woman in Space program, but within the context of the Cold War and the rise of the women’s movement in America” said Mednick....

A young Simon Pegg, actress Jessica Hynes (née Stevenson), and writer/director Edgar Wright met on the set of the 1996 show Asylum, a dark humor sitcom featuring various comedians, and from there began to develop their first project together, alongside Nick Frost (who worked with Pegg on Big Train). In an interview with Simon Brew of Den of Geek, Pegg notes that this debut work was “a reflection of a lot of [his] interests and personality” and went on to have “enormous significance....

In celebration of the massive success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony has released a new, beautifully dramatic poster depicting a battered and beaten Peter Parker (Tom Holland) looking broodily out over Times Square. Since hitting theaters last month, Spider-Man: No Way Home has grossed over $1.6 billion worldwide, and continues to climb the “Highest Grossing Movie of All Time” rankings. Sadly, Peter Parker seems completely unaware of this, as the poster sees him looking rather miserable....

It is quite appropriate that in the same year Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry would have celebrated his 100th birthday, and the franchise itself celebrates its 55th anniversary, the Star Trek Universe has reached another milestone - and it is one that very rarely reached by non-continuing dramas. Just weeks before the 55th anniversary is celebrated by Paramount’s Star Trek Day on Paramount+, Thursday’s episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks, entitled “We’ll Always Have Tom Paris” became the 800th overall Star Trek episode to have aired on TV since the original series began in the 1960s....

In a story from Variety, it looks like Steven Spielberg and Will Smith are looking to remake Chan Wook-park’s Oldboy. Speilberg’s DreamWorks Studios is currently looking into the rights to the picture. If it happens then Universal Studios will be tapped as the distributor. In the original film from 2003, a man is inexplicably kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years and his wife is brutally murdered. On his release, he is given a wallet full of money and a mobile phone....

Fans of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things rejoice! The latest teaser trailer for season 4 has just dropped in honor of “Stranger Things Day” and it looks as if the carnage is coming to California. Since the third season of Stranger Things came to an explosive end, in what seems like an eternity ago, way back in 2019, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and the Byers family have apparently finally had enough of the strange (and deadly) things taking place in the very unfortunate town of Hawkins, Indiana....

CBS, FOX HOLD LEAD AS MAY SWEEPS BEGIN CBS and Fox got off to strong starts in the May sweeps with CBS once again capturing the eyes of the most viewers overall, while Fox held onto its lead among the key 18-49-year-old demo for the 10th consecutive week. While only Thursday through Sunday figured in the sweeps tally, analysts were predicting that the remainder of the sweeps month would play out pretty much the way the past week did....

SUPER BOWL REIGNS SUPREME Fox’s American Idolmay have attracted 33.65 million viewers last Tuesday and 31.5 million on Wednesday, but those two audience totals combined would not have come close to equaling the 93.18 million who tuned in for CBS’s coverage of the Super Bowl on Sunday.
