Rupert Sanders is set to direct Snow White and the Huntsman, which was written by Evan Daugherty and will be produced by Joe Roth. According to The Hollywood Reporter, all three involved started shopping the project to various studios yesterday. This revisionist take on the age-old fairy tale is set to expand the role of the Huntsman, who only had a cameo in the original story. In Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, he is ordered to take Snow White into the woods and kill her, but decides to let her run free....

USA Today has unveiled the first photo from the 20th Century Fox film Hitman. Here is an image of Timothy Olyphant, who stars in the lead role (sans his trademark hair). Agent 47 (Timothy Olyphant) has been educated to become a professional assassin for hire, whose most powerful weapons are his nerve and a resolute pride in his work. 47 is both the last two digits of the barcode tattooed on the nape of his neck, and his only name....

Synopsis: Former video installation artist Philippe Grandieux made his feature directorial debut with this French psychological thriller that probes the mind of a serial killer. A hand-held camera follows murderer Jean (Marc Barbe) as he strangles French women while driving about France. When Claire (Elina Lowensohn) has a roadside car breakdown, she and her sister Christine (Geraldine Voillat) get a lift from the demented Jean, who later attacks Christine while she’s at a lake for a swim....

Sonic the Hedgehog was a 2020 action comedy based on the popular Sega video game franchise. A massive devoted fandom was the first step to getting the motion picture (after the infamous original design fiasco, of course), but its massive success garnered a sequel, especially after becoming the sixth highest grossing film of 2020. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was released in April 2022 and it, once again, is already the sixth highest-grossing movie of the year, as well as the highest grossing video game film ever in the United States....

LucasFilm announced at Star Wars Celebration VI today that Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith will be re-released in 3D just one month apart from one another next fall. Starz Chief Executive Officer Chris Albrecht announced the straight-to-series greenlight of Black Sails (working title) from executive producer Michael Bay. The new Starz Original series is expected to air in 2014. The eight-episode first season of the pirate adventure centers on the tales of Captain Flint and his men, and takes place twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island. Flint, the most brilliant and most feared pirate captain of his day, takes on a fast-talking young addition to his crew who goes by the name John Silver....

Stephen Root is easily one of the busiest actors in the movie biz. Ever since debuting on Netflix last summer, Stranger Things has become a cultural sensation, taking fans back to the 1980s with loads of nostalgia, an extremely catchy theme song and a cast of youngsters that have captured the world’s hearts. SAG “CIVIL WAR” Some writers were saying Monday that a full-scale civil war had erupted among the membership of the Screen Actors Guild over the leadership’s decision to ask for a strike authorization before the end of the year. On Monday some 131 members, many of them top Hollywood stars, sent a letter to SAG leaders asking them to cancel the strike authorization vote. Among the group were a number of performers with liberal activist credentials....
