Among comic book movies, very few characters have been portrayed as often or as variably as Bruce Wayne. Films featuring DC’s Caped Crusader have portrayed the character in wildly different ways, each one exploring his crusade against crime in Gotham City with such unique styles and tones that they often hold very little resemblance to one another. Not only do different actors and directors focus on different aspects of the character, but the setting has shown a tendency to evolve and reflect on the times that they inhabit, often becoming a sort of social commentary that is uncommon in typical superhero fiction....

New casting information for season 4 of The Boys has been revealed. Per Deadline, child star Cameron Crovetti has been bumped up to series regular for the fourth season in his role as Ryan, the biological son of Antony Starr’s Homelander. He had been featured as a recurring star in seasons 2 and 3, and his new promotion suggests Ryan will be a much bigger player in the story heading into season 4....

Not everyone was sold on Robert Pattinson’s casting as Bruce Wayne for Matt Reeves’ The Batman when the news was first announced, but the actor didn’t let it bother him. This week, following a lengthy production process and many release date delays, The Batman finally premieres in movie theaters. The film introduces Pattinson as the newest actor to portray the Dark Knight on the big screen, and according to the early reviews, he does a pretty good job in the role....

Back in July, we reported that Robert Zemeckis had come aboard to direct Here There Be Monsters for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. The multi-starrer action-drama RRR was one of the much-awaited films for 2022. The buzz around it has been present since the time it was announced. The trailer itself crossed 150 million views across five languages on YouTube. The formal announcement for the film was made in March 2018. Initially, the film was scheduled for a theatrical release on July 30, 2020, but due to production delays and the uncertainty surrounding the COVID pandemic, it finally got released this year....

Saturday Night Live, the iconic sketch show from NBC, is about to get a British remake soon. The British version of SNL is being developed at the pay-TV operator Sky. Both Sky and NBC are owned by the parent company Comcast, so it is no wonder that a British version of one of the most successful NBC shows is being developed in the house of the said TV operator. A collaboration such as this has often been pondered ever since Comcast bought the European media company for $39 billion (thus outbidding FOX) back in 2018....

In the name of full disclosure I must say that I have never seen a “Saw” film before in my life. For that matter I’m not even a big fan of horror films to begin with but I went into this movie with an open mind. That being said, “Saw VI” is a satisfying film that works for fans of the genre, the franchise and non-fans alike. The movie delivers on all fronts giving fans of the series exactly what they want, more blood and gore than the last film....

In 2005, John Erick and Drew, now better known as The Dowdle Brothers, set out to make The Poughkeepsie Tapes, a cinema verite-style horror film about a serial killer obsessed with video taping his victims’ demise. Shot in real-time using handheld cameras, the project was nothing short of breathtaking. It was quickly scooped up by MGM, and set for release sometime in 2008. While the brothers waited for their tiny little masterpiece to see the light of day, they headed over to Sony Studios to make another film....

It looks like once again DC is attempting to follow a tried and tested Marvel formula by adding a well-established member of the Justice League to Shazam! Fury of the Gods. According to a new report by The Illuminerdi, Gal Gadot will be bringing a Wonder Woman cameo to the Zachary Levi-starring sequel to the 2019 hit Shazam! Just like The Flash will be seeing Ben Affleck donning the Batsuit one more time, it appears that DC is realizing that crossing over some of their biggest characters is always going to boost the appeal of certain movies, even if that is just a small cameo, and while we wait of news on Wonder Woman 3, fans will take this appearance happily....

For those unfamiliar with Paul, the movie stars Simon Pegg and his longtime co-star/co-writer Nick Frost as Graeme Willy and Clive Gollings, a pair of British geeks who travel to America to visit San Diego Comic-Con along with a slew of extra-terrestrial hot spots across the country. Ironically enough, they come across an actual alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) as they set off on a hilarious journey to get Paul back home....

Paramount Home Entertainment is going to be making history in November. In a story from Home Media Magazine, Star Trek: The Original Series - Season One will be released on HD-DVD Nov. 20. This 10 disc set “will come in the HD-DVD/DVD combo format, with the high-def version on one side and standard-def on the other.” Currently, “all 79 episodes from the seminal 1966-69 sci-fi series are being upgraded with digital transfers of the original negatives, as well as new computer-generated visual effects....

Starz today announced a two-season, 20-episode greenlight of Blunt Talk, a half-hour scripted comedy series from Media Rights Capital (MRC). The project, from Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, Ted, A Million Ways to Die in the West) and Jonathan Ames (Bored to Death), was picked up straight-to-series with 20 episodes over two seasons, set to air in 2015. MacFarlane and Fuzzy Door Productions, Inc. serve as executive producer. Ames, who originated the idea for the series, will also serve as executive producer and as writer and showrunner....

Kate Bush’s haunting Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God) plays over the latest footage from Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2. The trailer, released courtesy of the official Stranger Things Twitter account, reunites us with Eleven and the rest of the Hawkins gang as they attempt to save themselves and the town from the villainous Vecna. The beloved Kate Bush song has seen a massive resurgence since being used in the first part of Stranger Things Season 4, and it seems that Running Up That Hill will continue to play a major part in the last part of the season, as it is masterfully merged with the ‘80s synth sound of the Stranger Things theme....

DE FACTO STRIKE HITS HOLLYWOOD Independent movie producers who are required by their backers to purchase completion bonds to guarantee that their films will get done have been told by insurance companies that they will not do business with them unless their movies can be finished by June 15, two weeks before the actors’ contract with producers expires, the Los Angeles Timesreported today (Tuesday). Producer Paul Schiff (Rushmore) told the newspaper that he was forced to shelve three movies because he couldn’t finish them by the June deadline....
