We reported a few weeks ago that Matt Damon was definitely not returning for The Bourne Legacy. Though, new details reveal the movie will allow for the possibility of Damon’s Jason Bourne returning in the future. Deadline revealed that Tony Gilroy’s take-over of the franchise will focus more on the company behind the Treadstone operation. The Bourne Legacy will follow new characters, which expand the mythology of the series, and it will feature a new protagonist who is also a former Treadstone agent with past experiences similar to Jason Bourne....

Buena Vista Home Entertainment’s The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe easily topped the national DVD sales chart for the week ending April 9, while the previous week’s top seller, Universal Studios’ King Kong, remained perched in the No. 1 slot on the video rental chart for the second consecutive week. With first-day sales pegged at 4 million units, Narnia didn’t have much competition for First Alert dominance, says The Hollywood Reporter....

Variety reports that Summit Entertainment plans to open Roman Polanski’s The Ghost Writer for a limited run on February 19. The director has been finishing up the film while under house arrest in Switzerland. Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan star in this film that is based on Robert Harris novel “The Ghost.” Summit plans to expand the film’s run March 5 and again on March 19. When a successful British ghostwriter, The Ghost (McGregor), agrees to complete the memoirs of former British Prime Minister Adam Lang (Brosnan), his agent assures him it’s the opportunity of a lifetime....

The hit ESPN documentary series The Last Dance may have gone over well with critics and Michael Jordan fans, but the iconic NBA star’s former teammate Scottie Pippen isn’t impressed. While most of us who were watching the docuseries at home weren’t a part of it as a member of the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, Pippen was able to watch with a much different point of view. And now he’s putting Jordan and the filmmakers on blast....

Filming on the upcoming slasher sequel Scream 6 has now wrapped. The news was revealed by production union AQTIS 514 IATSE, who posted an image of the cast and crew on social media alongside the caption, “It’s in the box! Shooting for the #Scream6 film has now ended. Well done to the Thunder team! We’d also like to thank producer Ron Lynch and #Montréal for choosing @blackmore.productions as their city to shoot....

The upcoming slasher sequel Scream VI will introduce a far more aggressive Ghostface than ever before, with this latest iteration of the infamous killer far “bolder” and more “brazen.” So bold and brazen, in fact, that he will have no qualms about wielding guns and attacking his victims in front of large crowds. As Scream VI director Matt Bettinelli-Olpin explains it… These very public kills have already been teased in the recent trailer for Scream VI, with Ghostface looking far more hostile and far less concerned about hiding and secrecy than he has been so far in the franchise....

A certain Schitt’s Creek star will next appear in the Netflix series Sex Education. Dan Levy is currently on location for the fourth season of Sex Education with Netflix revealing a first look image of the actor in his role (seen above). He plays the role of Thomas Molloy, a famous author and Maeve’s US course tutor at her Ivy League college. Other new cast members announced are Thaddea Graham (Doctor Who), Marie Reuther (Kamikaze), Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa, Alexandra James, and Imani Yahshua....

Following a public outcry, Saturday Night Live newcomer Shane Gillis has been fired from the series before appearing in his first episode. Just days ago, Gillis was officially announced as a part of the cast of SNL along with Bowen Yang and Chloe Fineman. Soon after, clips resurface on the web of Gillis joking about Chinese people in 2018 on an episode of his podcast, Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast. Although Gillis later expressed his regret for the jokes, it appears that it wasn’t enough, as SNL has now officially cut ties with the comedian....

Kristen Stewart has entered into negotiations to star in Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman, where she would star as Snow White alongside Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron. We reported last week that Kristen Stewart was circling the role. The studio offered her the role this weekend. Talks are still ongoing and the deal is nowhere near being finalized, but both parties are eager to make this happen. Riley Keough, Felicity Jones, and Alicia Vikander were among the other actresses vying for the part....

1997’s Spawn was a decent film that still has its fans, but it never registered upon its initial release, and New Line Cinema never moved forward on a proposed sequel after lackluster VHS and DVD sales. Todd McFarlane, creator of the supernatural comic book upon which Spawn is based, has plans to bring the character back to the big screen with an Untitled Spawn Reboot. And for the first time, he has come forward to talk about his plans for the upcoming cinematic reintroduction of this popular superhero of sorts....

Despite the massive train-wreck potential behind Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, most of the news coming out of the production actually sounds very hopeful. The Broadway show about Marvel Comics’ webslinging superhero, directed by Julie Taymor and with music by U2’s Bono and The Edge recently pulled the curtain back on the production, and a report made it’s way to the New York Post. A few key points to come from the presentation include the fact that the Broadway show (not a musical, according to Taymor, but instead a “circus rock-’n’-roll drama”) will draw not from the film franchise, but instead more from the comics....

Today at Comic-Con International, Star Trek fans were provided a sneak peek at the highly anticipated season two premiere episode of Star Trek Discovery during the series’ Hall H panel with cast and executive producers. The second season is slated to return to CBS All Access in early 2019. Star Trek Discovery co-creator and executive producer Alex Kurtzman, who directed the season two premiere, also announced at today’s panel the plan for Star Trek Short Treks....

Star Trek Discovery has officially been renewed for a 4th season. Additionally, it has been revealed when the series will go into production to start work on season 4. The news comes just one day after season 3 premiered. The show’s stars Sonequa Martin-Green and Doug Jones, along with executive producers/co-showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise, made the announcement in a short video for the fans this afternoon. Production is all set to start on November 2nd, with the cast and crew following strict safety protocols since the public health crisis is still currently effecting the world....

On April 3rd, 2022, StarTrek.com and Paramount+ unveiled the official Star Trek: Strange New Worlds full trailer starring Anson Mount as “Cowboy” Captain Christopher Pike, Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock, Rebecca Romijn as Una or “Number One,” and the rest of the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise on their first journeys to boldly go where no one has gone before. Star Trek fans have been eagerly awaiting this trailer for some time, and a version of the trailer will also air during tonight’s broadcast of the 64th Annual Grammy Awards celebration....

Star Trek is back in a big way. The franchise is going strong on Paramount+ through new original TV shows, with the recent Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premiering to positive reviews while Star Trek: Picard finished season two. Paramount also announced the long-awaited fourth Star Trek film in the recent series, which will see Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, John Cho, and Karl Urban return to the franchise following a seven-year hiatus from Star Trek Beyond....

It was officially announced today that Star Wars: The Clone Wars is coming back in honor of the 10th anniversary of the beloved series. Dave Filoni made the surprise announcement at San Diego Comic-Con, much to the shock of everyone in attendance who believed that It was just going to be a celebration of the anniversary. Filoni revealed that the show is coming back with 12 brand-new episodes that will be available exclusively on Disney’s direct-to-consumer streaming platform....
