Dave Filoni can do no wrong in the Star Wars universe. His latest television series for Lucasfilm Animation, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, follows up directly after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The premiere episode, “Aftermath”, has the elite commando squad of genetic defects grappling with the bloody fallout of the treacherous Order 66. They must prove their loyalty to the new Galactic Empire while facing an unexpected, insidious threat....

Star Wars Rebels gives us a filler episode in Warhead, but not an unentertaining one. Zeb (Steve Blum) takes center stage with Chopper and AP-5 (Stephen Stanton) as sidekicks. I love AP-5’s smug demeanor. He’s a rare comedic element in the series. We also get another appearance by Agent Kallus (David Oyelowo) as the rebel’s secret informer, Fulcrum. Warhead opens with Star Destroyers launching dozens of probe ships into space. One of them crash lands on Atollon....

Ahead of the premiere of Jordan Peele’s new movie Nope, star Steven Yeun has just been cast in another acclaimed filmmaker’s sci-fi movie. Per Deadline, Yeun has joined the cast of Bong Joon Ho’s next film based on the Edward Ashton novel Mickey7. This reunites the actor with Bong who previously directed the film Okja, which featured Yeun in a lead role. The Mickey7 adaptation also stars Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Mark Ruffalo, and Toni Collette....

DISNEY MAY SLASH ONLINE MOVIE PRICES Disney may be planning to stop trying to fight pirates in the courts and do battle with them in the marketplace – by drastically reducing its online pricing. NBC FIRES CHIEF PROGRAMMER REILLY NBC Universal is expected to announce as early as Tuesday that it is cutting loose Entertainment President Kevin Reilly, published reports said today. Today’s (Monday) New York Timesand the Los Angeles Timessaid that Reilly, whose contract was extended for three years just three months ago, had recently asked the network to clarify has status after learning that it had been in discussions with Ben Silverman, producer of such shows as The Officeand The Biggest Loserfor NBC and Ugly Bettyfor ABC, to take on a new chairmanship position that would essentially usurp much of Reilly’s authority....

Shortly before 2012 debuted in theaters, Roland Emmerich made the press rounds revealing that he was planning a television sequel based on his latest disaster epic. Salt is a 2010 action film featuring Angelina Jolie as the title character, Evelyn Salt. The film follows the story of CIA agent Evelyn Salt who must go on the run to prove her innocence after being accused of being a Russian sleeper agent, only making herself look more and more guilty in the process. Salt was originally written for a male protagonist, with Tom Cruise secured for the lead, but screenwriter Brian Helgeland rewrote the entire script so that the role could fit Jolie....

Netflix may have pulled the plug on Santa Clarita Diet last year, but series creator Victor Fresco is still holding out hope for a fourth season. Premiering on the streamer in 2017, Santa Clarita Diet starred Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant as Sheila and Joel Hammond — a married couple whose lives completely change when Sheila turns into a zombie with a hunger for human flesh.
