Hugh Jackman’s adamantium claws have been collecting dust in the Marvel museum for five years now following his “final performance” as Wolverine in Logan. That movie gave us the seemingly perfect ending for Jackman’s tenure as the character. One more big brawl in the woods and a bow out. He took on Magneto, Sabretooth, and the Sentinels; it was a pretty fulfilling run for fans of Wolverine. But one nagging, massive missed opportunity was buried with Jackman’s Wolverine in the final shot of Logan; a team-up with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool....

New Line Cinema will present special sneak previews of its highly anticipated fantasy adventure The Golden Compass this weekend in 800 theaters nationwide prior to the film’s worldwide opening on December 7th. The sneak previews, to be held on Saturday night, will give audiences a special opportunity to get an early look at the film which recently drew four-star reviews in the Guardian, the Daily Mail, and the Sun after its London premiere....

Looks like Sony is getting substantially rewarded for its epic fan service through the iconically fulfilled Spider-Man: No Way Home. The film, which recently became the first pandemic-era film to gross over a billion U.S. dollars at the global box office, is eyeing over $600 million in net profits. If that figure is reached, Spider-Man: No Way Home will become the most profitable ever film for Sony Pictures Releasing. The Spider-Man threequel set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe crossed over with the past Spider-Man and brought past Spidey villains into the MCU along with detailed inclusion of the multiverse concept, expanding the franchise to new branched realities....

Get a new star date on DVD in a new remastered edition. Star Trek The Original Series - Season Two Remastered is coming to DVD on August 5th. The eight-disc set will be available for $99.99 SRP. They can’t all be great folks. The latest Star Wars Rebels episode Iron Squadron marks the first weak episode of season three. New characters are introduced, so this may purely be a set-up for a more detailed storyline. Our heroes meet a band of spunky teens fighting the Empire. It’s also the first time that Phoenix Squadron’s Commander Sato (Keone Young) gets a whiff of their real adversary, Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelson)....

Netflix announced today that two Stephen King movies will be coming to the streaming platform this June, Bloody Disgusting reports. Pennywise the Dancing Clown will terrorize viewers in Andy Muschietti’s IT (2017) beginning June 19, 2022, while Frank Darabont’s The Mist ominously rolls in on June 22. The films will join classics Stand By Me, Pet Sematary (1989), and Christine in the author’s repertoire on the platform. FOX NEWSMEN KIDNAPPED IN GAZA Fox News reporter Steve Centanni and his cameraman, Olaf Wiig, were abducted by masked Palestinian gunmen in Gaza City Monday. The men reportedly were sitting in an SUV marked “TV” near the headquarters of the Palestinian security service, along with a driver, an interpreter and one other man. The other three were released, according to the London Daily Telegraph.The kidnapping of reporters is becoming increasingly common in the area, but all those who have heretofore been abducted in Gaza have been released, according to Joel Campagna of the Committee to Protect Journalists....

NEW VOLLEY IN WRITERS’ STRIKE The Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers claimed Friday that the eight-week-old strike by members of the Writers Guild of America has already cost the writers more than what the guild has asked for in negotiations. The guild has calculated that its demands for increased residuals from Internet distribution of programs and movies will cost the industry $151.2 million over three years. In a statement, the AMPTP said, “The strike continues because the union’s leaders are focused on jurisdictional issues that would expand their own power, at the expense of the new media issues that working writers care most about....

Supernatural co-showrunner Andrew Dabb promises the series finale main storyline will arrive “unchanged” from what they originally had planned. Fans have been wondering for months if the public health crisis was going to effect the end of the long-running series. The Good A very rich cartoon that tells a truly entertaining story. The Bad I would have really liked this DVD to have a bit more about the “making of” this movie. Tarzan is one of those stories that it seems like we learn before we learn anything. It is one of those tales that is always with us and as we get older it eventually recedes in our memory but we don’t ever forget it....
