Being Human is back with the all-new episode “(Dead) Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” Monday, January 21 at 9 PM ET on Syfy. Actors Sam Huntington and Kristen Hager, who play the werewolves Josh and Nora, recently participated in a conference call where they spoke about the new season. Sam Huntington first spoke about how layered his character is on the series. Kristen Hager also spoke about how this season features the main characters coming back together as a group, instead of having separate story lines....

If there is one fact about movie sequels that never fails to be true, it is that there is always a need for it to be bigger and more action-packed than its predecessor. Starz is gearing up for some swords-and-sandals action for its next series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Starz has given the green light for its new series, Spartacus. Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Joshua Donen will develop the series and serve as executive producer while Steven S. DeKnight has been come aboard as head writer and showrunner. The series will be based on the real-life adventures of the slave-turned-revolutionary who changed the face of the Roman Republic in 73 B....

A few weeks ago, Netflix finally made it official and announced that their hit series Stranger Things will return for Season 2, arriving in Summer 2017. It seems that production may have already started, with new photos that have surfaced from the building that stands in for the Hawkins Labs facility on the show, revealing several production vehicles are already on site. We don’t know for sure if principal photography has started yet, but if it hasn’t, it may start very soon....

OH, WHAT A NIGHT FOR NEWS CORP News Corp said today (Wednesday) that its profit climbed 6.2 percent in its third quarter, largely due to the box-office hit Night at the Museum and a 34-percent jump in revenue at its Fox News Network. Net income increased to $871 million from $820 million during the comparable quarter a year ago as overall sales rose 21 percent to $7.51 billion. Earnings from its movies soared 82 percent as Museumearned $571 million worldwide in theaters and Borat: Cultural Learnings of America For Make Benefit of Glorious Nation Kazakhstan took in $39....

NBC FAILS TO REPORT ITS OWN STORY Despite the fact that NBC’s coverage of the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade featured NBC News personalities Katie Couric, Matt Lauer and Al Roker, no mention was made of the fact that an M&M balloon had crashed into a light pole in Times Square during the parade, injuring an 11-year-old girl and her 26-year-old sister. Today’s (Friday) New York Timesobserved that CNN was broadcasting news of the accident by 11:51, four minutes after it occurred....

NEW YORK TV STUDIOS FLOODED Torrential rains in New York early today (Wednesday) disrupted operations of several TV outlets. The CBS stage used for The Early Show was flooded, forcing it to originate from a different studio several blocks away from the one located in the GM building. Co-anchor Hannah Storm told viewers that “there was water just pouring out of the ceiling onto people’s desks.” An emailer told the TVNewser website that Fox News Channel’s newsroom had become “completely flooded,” with workers having to hang a tarpaulin over the newsroom ceiling....

FALLEN IDOL STILL ON TOP Even though it drew its lowest ratings in five years, last Tuesday night’s American Idolstill was the second-most watched show of the week last week, beaten only by the Wednesday-night edition of Idol, which drew its lowest numbers in three years. For a May sweeps week, it might as well have been June. Except for the two Idolshows, none had enough appeal to draw more than 20 million viewers....

REJECTED ABC NEWS REPORTS TURN UP ONLINE The Internet can be a powerful agent for journalists to seek out sources for investigative reports, according to Brian Ross, ABC’s chief investigative correspondent. In an interview with Mark Glaser, who runs a blog called MediaShift, Ross noted that the network’s story about former Congressman Mark Foley’s sexually explicit messages to congressional pages first appeared on the ABC news site, The Blotter. “It took the first turn of the little story to get the bigger story, and if we had not run that first story [on the Internet], we never would have got those pages’ instant messages,” Ross said....

Park City, Utah will soon welcome a variety of talents to celebrate independent filmmaking at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The lineup of Sundance Film Festival competition was initially announced on December 7, 2022.
