The first trailer for Supergirl season 5 has arrived. Melissa Benoist and other members of the cast, as well as producer Robert Rovner, were on hand at San Diego Comic-Con to discuss some of the secrets of season 5, and to unveil the first footage. Luckily, the trailer was also made available online for fans who couldn’t actually be there for the panel. And it gives us a great look at Kara’s brand new super suit....

The next ArrowVerse crossover event has been revealed. The CW has announced that Superman and Batwoman will meet up for something that will be smaller in scale when compared to the more recent Elseworlds and Crisis on Infinite Earths events. But, fans will probably have to wait a little longer to see this one come together, as it isn’t expected to hit the airwaves until 2021. CW chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz made the reveal on Thursday during a conference call with reporters....
Director Zack Snyder talked with The LA Times about his upcoming Superman movie, which stars Henry Cavill as the man from Krypton, and said that the new film will not be tied to any previous film featuring the character, unlike 2006’s Superman Returns, which felt like a sequel to 1978’s Superman. Zack Snyder also alluded to the action of Superman: “Literally, the one thing that everyone can start to think about is that we’re making a movie that finally goes with the approach that there’s been no other Superman movies....

Roy Moore is suing Sacha Baron Cohen for $95 million after an episode of Who Is America? aired featuring the Alabama judge and a fictional pedophile detector wand. Cohen secured the interview with Moore using his Erran Morad character. For the first time, the two top producing dogs at Paramount Pictures are teaming on a movie. Paramount has purchased film rights for high-six figures for screenwriter Charlie Fletcher’s contemporary novel Stoneheart, which is scheduled for publication in September in the U.S. (Hyperion) and the U.K. (Hachette). The Hollywood Reporter says both Scott Rudin and Lorenzo di Bonaventura wanted to produce the movie, which has franchise potential; Fletcher plans to complete a trilogy....

Alexander Polinsky, who defended Nicole Eggert’s recent claims against the actor, has retained Los Angeles lawyer Lisa Bloom, and will hold a press conference this morning in Los Angeles. ABC and NBC have released the pilots to rookie comedies Selfie and A to Z exclusively on Hulu. Selfie follows a self-obsessed twenty-something woman who is more concerned with “likes” than being liked. After suffering a very public and humiliating breakup, she becomes the subject of a viral video and suddenly has more social media “followers” than she ever imagined - but for all the wrong reasons. She enlists the help of a marketing expert at her company to help repair her tarnished image....
Hollywood Gang Prods., Endgame Entertainment and Mongol director Sergei Bodrov are uniting for The Silk Road: The Adventures of Marco Polo, an epic film which will explore the controversial life of the 13th-century Italian trader and explorer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hollywood Gang’s Gianni Nunnari (300) and Endgame’s James D.
