After just two seasons and a Sense8 Christmas special, Netflix has canceled its hit drama series. The move comes just a week after the streaming service also canceled Baz Luhrmann’s period piece The Get Down, which itself was one of the few shows that Netflix has ever given the axe to. Here’s what Cindy Holland, Netflix’s VP of original content, had to say in a statement about the cancellation. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the cancellation of this show and The Get Down are quite rare for the streaming service, which has only canceled a handful of shows....
Showtime has just released the first teaser trailer for their sci-fi series The Man Who Fell to Earth, which stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Naomie Harris. Although the trailer is brief it does give us a look at Ejiofor, who plays Faraday, an alien attempting to understand his purpose after landing on Earth. Harris plays Justin Falls, a human that makes contact with Faraday and tries to help him live up to whatever he has been sent to do....

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group has picked up overseas rights to two upcoming Lionsgate sequels, Punisher: War Zone and Crank 2: High Voltage, Variety reports. Sony nailed down all international rights for The Punisher sequel, now in production. Based on the Marvel comicbook series, it comes with a new team both in front of and behind the cameras. Ray Stevenson picked up the role of Frank Castle, a former FBI agent determined to avenge the acts of violent criminals, which Thomas Jane portrayed in the original....
San Diego Comic-Con is in full swing, and the announcements from Marvel Studios are starting to come fast and furious.
