Summer 2009 has beat every summer movie going season before it to become the highest grossing summer at the domestic box office ever. According to Variety, the box office revenue throughout Sunday has been calculated at $4.17 billion. That is compared to the summer of 2007, which was the previous record holder with $4.16 billion. The Labor Day weekend should add another $100 million to that estimate, which finds summer 2009 up three percent in total grosses....

The Good With 14 discs, this is truly a collection to own. The Bad Flimsy packaging that lets the discs get shuffled around within the enclosure. The Superman Ultimate Collector’s Edition is certainly not misleading in calling itself that. Filled with all the movies that are currently available in this franchise, it also contains extra discs that give viewers even more of the lore behind the Man of Steel. We reported back in April that John Gotti Jr. is setting up a new feature film based on his life and now it seems an A-list actor could be in talks to portray his legendary father. JoBlo discovered a new TMZ story that reveals Sylvester Stallone has been in talks with Gotti Jr. to portray his father, John Gotti, in a new feature film. The site is also reporting that the project is moving along smoothly and they are about to find a screenwriter for the project....

At one point, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger despised each other. Both actors had been on the rise in Hollywood since the 1970s, and as each became known for their blockbuster hits in the action genre, the competition started to get the best of them. Both Stallone and Schwarzenegger were fueled by beating one another at the box office with their new movies, bringing out their competitive nature with a goal to be the king of the genre....

HBO aired the first episode of Tales from the Crypt about 30 years ago. The Crypt Keeper opened every episode of this anthology series, which was based on the 1950s E.C. horror comic books. Throughout its seven seasons, the show earned excellent viewer feedback and was even nominated many times for Primetime Emmy Awards. Netflix continues to expand its slate of preschool shows for younger viewers, and among the upcoming titles is a reboot of Teletubbies. Set to start streaming on Nov. 14, 2022, the new Teletubbies features Tituss Burgess who serves as narrator joining the four friendly pals fans will remember from the original incarnation of the show: Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po. This new take comes from co-creator and writer Andrew Davenport....

The Batman is now in its final stages of production as it nears its March 2022 release. The DC Fandome trailer of the film gave us a nice, detailed glimpse of the uniquely constructed and noir-style designed Batman origin the film could offer the audience. The film seems to be a major thesis on Bruce Wayne’s mental and psychological conflict over his form of vigilante justice as he tries to figure a way to end Riddler’s enigmatic schemes that terrorize the city....

Big Mouth is a Netflix original animated series created by Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, and Jennifer Flackett. To those who like taboo, raunchy, and sexually explicit comedy, this show is one of the best comedy series on Netflix. It features a wild cast of characters who all struggle to navigate the hardships of puberty. Big Mouth does an extraordinary job of making this excellent ensemble of characters both incredibly funny and lovable....

Some of cinema’s most outstanding and eye-opening documentaries have enlightened and inspired audiences with their thought-provoking perspectives. Oftentimes these pictures have captivated moviegoers so much that they receive the full Hollywood treatment and become a full-length feature film (or TV series, as in Dispatches From Elsewhere), superbly bringing their original source material to the big screen. It’s not uncommon for the entertainment business to draw on already established and admired works for insight and direction, and documentaries have proven to be a convenient source of creativity....

ABC announced today that the Roseanne spin-off will move forward without star and creator Roseanne Barr. The decision comes just weeks after Barr made racist comments on social media, which led to the cancelation of the original revival series. The revival series had just been picked up for a second season with the cast and crew inking new deals. The cancelation of the show ended up in over 200 jobs lost....

Premiering this Tuesday, January 4th 2011 is the ten-episode third season of the popular series, which will be the first produced specifically for TNT. We recently had an opportunity to visit the set of the popular show, which shoots at Los Angeles Center Studios in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. And we spoke with several of the cast members including Ben McKenzie, Michael Cudlitz and Regina King. They discussed the new third season, the show’s move to TNT, how their characters have changed and how the show has changed since it was last on the air....

For over a decade, audiences have been inundated with MCU projects. A near-constant stream of movies of television shows has been foisted upon the viewing public. There is certainly a lot to love about the franchise. It has introduced us to innumerable beloved characters, allowed audiences a glimpse at the far reaches of the universe, and taught us a lot of important lessons along the way. However, it’s possible that the MCU has become a bit stagnant....

Showtime has ordered up six episodes of Live Nude Comedy, a half-hour mish mash of standup comedy and modern-day burlesque. According to Variety, Shannon Elizabeth will host the weekly midnight series, which premieres Thursday. The program positions itself as an old-school variety show with a 21st-century sensibility. Typical format of Live Nude Comedy will open with an audience-participation sketch featuring Elizabeth, followed by each week’s two comedians alternating with two dancers....

With Sony’s latest announcement that Morbius will be delayed, the film has now been delayed more times than The New Mutants. Morbius, starring Jared Leto, was supposed to come out on January 28, 2022. However, Morbius has now been pushed to April 1, 2022, after a recent surge of COVID cases due to the Omicron variant. Geek To Me Radio shared a tweet comparing how many times Morbius has been delayed and how many times The New Mutants was delayed....

Coming up in the 11th season, viewers can expect a parody of the popular FOX hit series, 24, and Hilary Clinton pays a visit to South Park. There will be plenty of shocking surprises from the legendary fourth-graders with seven all-new episodes beginning on Wednesday, March 7 at 10:00 p.m. on COMEDY CENTRAL. As a bonus, fans will be able to download the uncensored version of each new episode from the 11th season on iTunes the Tuesday after it premieres beginning on Tuesday, March 13....

Pre-production is underway on a six-part prequel to Starz’ hit original series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Andy Whitfield, who played the title character in the series, will appear in the prequel briefly, but Lucy Lawless and John Hannah take center stage in this story of the rise of the House of Batiatus and its champions before Spartacus arrives as a captured Thracian slave. With the title still to be determined, the prequel will begin production this summer in New Zealand, and is slated to air on Starz in January 2011....
