The Walt Disney Studios, Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios announced they have reached an agreement under which Paramount will transfer its worldwide marketing and distribution rights to Disney for Marvel Studios’ The Avengers and Iron Man 3. Paramount will remain the worldwide distributor of the upcoming films, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, as well as the previously released Iron Man and Iron Man 2. Under terms of the new deal, Disney will pay Paramount $115 million for the transfer of the distribution rights to Iron Man 3 and The Avengers to be paid on the theatrical release dates....

Ahead of the premiere of Selena: The Series on Netflix next month, the streamer and the family of the late singer are getting hit with a lawsuit. Hollywood producer Moctesuma Esparza, who helped produce the 1997 biopic Selena starring Jennifer Lopez, is now suing Selena’s father, Abraham Quintanilla, along with her sister, Suzette. According to the court docs, Esparza claims the Netflix series breaks an agreement signed by Abraham in 1995 giving Esparza the rights to the life stories of Selena and various members of the Quintanilla family....
In celebration of the She-Ra and the Princesses of Power series finale, Netflix has debuted the fifth season trailer. Creepshow is coming back soon as an episodic TV series for Shudder, and Adrienne Barbeau has been cast for a role in the premiere episode. Series producer Greg Nicotero will be directing the episode, which is based on a short story by Stephen King. Barbeau will be in good company as she’s joining Saw series star Tobin Bell and Better Call Saul’s Giancarlo Esposito in the cast. “I was thrilled when Greg asked me to join the Creepshow world once again,” Barbeau said about her casting in the series....

Tales of the Jedi is the new Star Wars extended universe series from Dave Filoni, the creator of Star Wars: Rebels, The Clone Wars, Bad Batch, and many more. Filoni apparently conceived of the series and began writing it during his work on The Mandalorian. He was traveling for the show when he started writing several short stories about prequel-era Jedi. When he was approached by an executive at Lucasfilm, they decided to turn the stories into an anthology series....
