The Avengers is currently shooting in New Mexico, and it has been understood ever since Thor hit theaters earlier this month, that Tom Hiddleston’s Loki will be the main villain in The Avengers. A new rumor is swirling that The Avengers will feature a second villain, Thanos. Earlier this month, Marvel unveiled some photos from Odin’s vault in Thor, and one of the items on display is the Infinity Gauntlet, which Thanos wears....

A new take on The Bad News Bears is in development. Deadline reports that the franchise will get rebooted in the form of a single-camera comedy series at CBS. This new version will be written by Corey Nickerson (Black-ish) and is a collaboration between Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and Wendi Trilling’s TrillTV. Nickerson is also executive producing with Kaplan, Trilling, and Melanie Frankel. Nickerson, who has experience coaching her son’s youth baseball team, will take what she’s learned for inspiration for the TV show....

Not every movie that features Carey Mulligan also includes a string version of Britney Spears’ hit single Toxic. Just as Due Date was a muffled remake of Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Ron Underwood’s (The Adventures Of Pluto Nash) next project Woodchucks will be a revisionist take on the now classic 2001 snow bound comedy Out Cold (which sadly failed to make stars of Zach Galifianakis and David Koechner at the time of its release). Yes, folks, we’re at a time in cinema when people are remaking Out Cold! Which was a take-off on Hot Dog: The Movie, so even that wasn’t original....

Borat has returned with more to say about former president Donald Trump, though that’s not the only controversial celebrity the Sacha Baren Cohen character has issues with. Back in 2006, Cohen introduced Borat Sagdiyev, a Kazakhstani journalist with a lot to learn about America, in the 2006 mockumentary Borat! Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. He later reprised the role for 2020’s Borat Subsequent Movefilm which was released on Prime Video....

Risky Business is reporting that Sahara Lotti is going to write the comedy The Exes for CBS Films. The project is going to be an adaptation of the best-selling 2003 novel “The Ex Files,” that was written by British columnist Jane Moore. In this film version, an engaged couple decides that they are going to “invite several of their exes to a celebratory wedding weekend on an exotic island, which turns out not to be such a great idea....

HBO has released the second trailer for the upcoming medieval series Game of Thrones, which will premiere sometime in 2011 on the cable network. Take a look at this new series below, which stars Sean Bean and Lena Headey: Seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros. Political and sexual intrigue abound. The primary families are the Stark, Lannister, and Baratheon families. Robert Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard Stark to serve as his chief advisor....

Back in mid-November, I was invited to The Lot in West Hollywood (yes, it’s just called The Lot…) to take a sneak peek at the set of the new TNT series, Trust Me, which premieres on Monday, January 26 on TNT (CLICK HERE to read my early review of the hilarious pilot). You can take aim in 1080p with Mark Wahlberg this May. Shooter is coming back to Blu-Ray on May 20. We don’t have any pricing details as of yet, but this is yet another Paramount Blu-Ray disc that was pulled from the shelves when they switched to HD DVD last year, before the format war ended. This past Thursday, I was one of the lucky press members to have dinner with Simon Pegg and director Greg Mottola to discuss the Blu-ray and DVD release of their fantastic comedy Paul, which will hit the shelves on August 9. Most of our dinner conversation will be saved until we get closer to the release date, although Simon Pegg did speak about a number of other projects as well. While a specific production start date is not known Simon Pegg said that Star Trek 2 will start shooting sometime this fall....

South Park spent years as one of Comedy Central’s most critically acclaimed and commercially successful products. The franchise is still going strong after over two decades of irreverent lampooning of cultural institutions and downright raunchy humor. As of late, the show has left its original home on Comedy Central and announced that South Park: The Streaming Wars would be released on Paramount+. South Park: The Streaming Wars specials are hilarious hour-long episodes that, likely inspired by the series’ own recent change of hosting service, seek to parody the rapidly expanding collection of streaming services available to modern-day media consumers....

After 21 seasons, it has to be pretty tough to come up with new and interesting ideas to keep South Park afloat. Show creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have just figured out a pretty creative way to promote Season 22, which involves the cancellation of the wildly popular animated sitcom. Stacy Keibler, who danced her way into America’s hearts during Season Two of Dancing with the Stars, will be a guest star on two ABC shows. She will begin a seven-episode arc of ABC’s drama series What About Brian, playing fledgling actress/model Stephanie who moves in to an apartment downstairs from Brian (Barry Watson). There is an immediate flirtatious bond between Brian and the irresistibly hot Stephanie, causing even more problems between Brian and his current girlfriend....
