According to The Hollywood Reporter, pilot season ‘06 kicked in to high gear Wednesday as broadcast and cable networks handed out a slew of greenlighted orders for drama projects, many with high-profile creative talent attached. ABC ordered Six Degrees, from executive producer J.J. Abrams; CBS gave the nod to Jericho, executive produced and to be directed by Jon Turteltaub, and to Orpheus, from executive producers Ridley and Tony Scott; Fox greenlighted Faceless, which Narc helmer Joe Carnahan is on board to direct and executive produce; and NBC gave a thumbs up to Heroes, from Crossing Jordan creator Tim Kring, and to Seeing Red, from writer-producer Graham Yost....

We reported earlier this week that the cast of director Paul W.S. Anderson’s new film was growing fast and now they have found a distributor. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Summit Entertainment will distribute The Three Musketeers 3D. Our earlier report on the film’s casting stated that Anderson was set to begin principal photography in September, but, since Summit wants to release the film next summer, Anderson has pushed up production to start in August....

A few months ago, it was announced that Sunshine would be the first Profile 1.1 Blu-Ray release. Fox Home Entertainment has just released the full details for this disc that hits the shelves on January 8. The Blu-Ray disc will be priced at $39.98, but you get plenty for your money with this disc. Among the Profile 1.1 goodies are picture-in-picture commentary, enhanced viewing mode and the first ever surround sound mixing feature....

A cyclone of theories, rants, and condemnation followed in the wake of the announcements that writer and director James Gunn is now, in effect, the Kevin Feige of the DCU. He and producer Peter Safran have started work on building a new, cohesive cinematic universe that will undoubtedly mirror the juggernaut that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but with its own identity. While the announcement came with troubling news for the current lineup of DC heroes (including the cancelation of Wonder Woman 3 and the dismissal of Superman actor Henry Cavill), Gunn has assured the public that it is all in an effort to build a universe that honors the characters he loves....

Times Online is reporting that Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger are finally teaming up on screen. Only, it’s not in any capacity that we’d ever imagined before. The two action icons will be lending their expertise to the Bollywood movie Incredible Love, a romance revolving around the stunt world. Stallone and Schwarzenegger will be the first well-known American actors to appear in a Bollywood film. They will be starring alongside Bollywood superstars Ashkay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in a story that revolves around an Indian stuntman that suddenly takes Hollywood by storm but has trouble finding true love....

The Sony action thriller Takers will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on January 18th. The standard DVD will be priced at $28.95 SRP while the Blu-ray will cost $34.95 SRP. When it comes to hit indie movies made on shoestring budgets, the horror genre very rarely disappoints. That has been true once again with the arrival of Terrifier 2, a film that was put together by a crowdfunding campaign that drew in $250,000 worth of investment. Now, Terrifier 2 has been submitted for consideration by the Academy as an Oscar contender, which will be something that is certainly more a trick than a treat for the frequently lofty standards of the Academy....

The head of the makeup department discusses her process on this 3D Disney sequel Tron: Legacy arrives in theaters nationwide on December 17 in 2D and 3D theaters across the country. One of the crew members who helped perfect the actors’ look in the movie is Rosalina da Silva, head of the makeup department for Tron: Legacy. Walt Disney Pictures sent over an interview piece with this makeup designer, and she had plenty to say about her experiences on this 3D epic adventure....

The first trailer for Roswell, New Mexico is here. Every small town has a story. And this town’s story has a UFO and some aliens in it. The CW had a big presence at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, showcasing the upcoming seasons of their Arrowverse shows, as well as Supernatural and Riverdale. However, they came with at least one surprise up their sleeve in the form of a trailer for the upcoming Roswell reboot....

Russell Brand will voice the Easter Bunny in Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s live-action/CGI family comedy I Hop, which has set a March 4, 2011 release date. According to Variety, Tim Hill, who mixed live action and CGI characters on Alvin and the Chipmunks, will direct. Production begins this fall. Illumination chief Chris Meledandri will produce with John Cohen. The tale revolves around an out-of-work slacker who runs over the Easter Bunny while driving home late....

The new trailer has been released for Scare Zone, the upcoming horror film asking what it would be like if the actors at a haunted attraction were actual murderers, whose killings would go unnoticed by the guests assuming it to be part of the show. It is heading to the Terror Films Channel on May 27 followed by a worldwide release on June 3, 2022. You can catch a sneak peek at the horror flick by watching the trailer below....

The Scream franchise is one of the most popular slasher series over two decades. The use of comedy makes this franchise unique compared to other slasher films. Throughout each film, the characters poke fun at the horror tropes and stereotypes while falling victim to said tropes. There is even an in-world movie in the movie (appropriately named Stab) that is about the movie. Wes Craven played with the horror-comedy genre well with the first four movies, with directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett picking it up for 2022’s Scream and onwards....

During the Disney panel today at Comic-Con, Walt Disney Pictures revealed the new titles treatment for Tron Legacy, which also signifies a title change to what was known as “Tron 2.0” previously. Tron Legacy is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years....

When it comes to British period dramas, Downton Abbey has reigned on U.S. television for what seems like ages. Last year, however, a new series, Miss Scarlet and the Duke, was introduced to Masterpiece Theater PBS viewers and another addiction quickly developed. Not since the pairing of Sherlock Holmes and Watson has there been such a dynamic detective duo from the Victorian era, and the growing number of fans of the show immediately took Twitter by storm to proclaim their love....

Today, Showtime unveiled the official trailer for the highly-anticipated third season of its Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning hit series Homeland.
