The Company You Keep has been given a series order at ABC, Variety reports. The upcoming drama stars Milo Ventimiglia as Charlie, a con-man who finds himself on a collision course with undercover CIA officer Emma, played by Catherine Haena Kim. The show was ordered to pilot for the 2022 pilot season slate and is set to debut in 2023. Although The Company You Keep was the last second-cycle pilot to learn its future, expectations for the pickup were high....

Ron Perlman gained tons of fan respect and admiration for his portrayal of a certain superhero from Hell in Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army, but with del Toro now busy working on TheHobbit, the question arises - would Perlman do Hellboy III without del Toro? Perlman spoke to IESB.net about that possibility, as well as his involvement in Bubba Nosferatu. Perlman did say that he would never do HBIII without, at the minimum, Guillermo’s blessing....

Ryan Murphy’s Netflix collaboration has been given a boost with The Watcher getting a season 2 order, and his Dahmer-based drama Monster getting a further two seasons as an anthology series. Ryan Murphy has a solid relationship with the streamer, and with both shows drawing a lot of attention, it is not surprising to see Netflix jumping for more of the same. The Watcher debuted on Netflix on October 13th and is based on the true story of a family who moves into their dream home but soon finds things turning into a nightmare when they receive mysterious letters from “The Watcher....

Samuel L. Jackson has just been given his first-ever Oscar. At the Governors Awards, the honorary arm of the Academy Awards, Denzel Washington appeared to present a lifetime achievement award to Jackson, a longtime friend and fellow Hollywood star. Footage of Jackson receiving the honorary Oscar has been going viral, as the actor is just as thrilled about the award as Washington is to give it to him. Other lifetime achievement awards were given out, with one to Elaine May by Bill Murray and another to Liv Ullman by John Lithgow....

Max Thieriot has another project underway. The actor, writer, and director is set to play the leading role in the pilot of the CBS drama, Cal Fire. According to Deadline, Thieriot also co-wrote the series and will executive produce. Initially, Thieriot was only set to have an off-camera role on the project, but the actor bagged the leading role. Based on Thieriot’s own life as a boy growing up in northern California, Cal Fire is a story about the world of convict Bode Donovan (Thieriot)....

Two of the most popular children’s entertainment brands in television history have finally crossed over, as The Wiggles and Sesame Street have collaborated for an all-new music video. Featuring all four members of The Wiggles, the video also includes Sesame Street Muppets Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and Cookie Monster. Together, they all sing a new rendition of the classic Wiggles song “Do the Propeller!” The song is now available on audio platforms like Spotify and iTunes, and the music video is streaming on the official YouTube accounts for both brands....

It’s pretty much impossible to imagine anyone other than Michael Clarke Duncan as John Coffey in The Green Mile, but it could have been NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal. Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, The Green Mile was released in 1999 by writer-director Frank Darabont. It stars Duncan as a convict whose arrival on death row sparks supernatural events with Tom Hanks also starring as a prison guard watching it all unfold....

Shatner in Space, a one-hour documentary special chronicling the space flight courtesy of Blue Origin, is set to premiere on Dec. 15 on Prime Video in the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Other territories will be able to stream the doc in early 2022. The special was announced personally by Shatner during a virtual panel on Sunday for CCXP Worlds....

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is just a few days from its Disney+ debut, slated to arrive on the streaming service on Thursday, August 18. The series will follow Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) as she navigates her complicated life as a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot 7-inch super-powered Hulk. Her connections to the giant green beast from the Marvel Cinematic Universe may differentiate her character from other shows focused on the court of law; however, fans can’t help but notice the striking similarities to Ally McBeal....

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law finally comes to Disney+ next week, and head writer Jessica Gao has opened up about the many characters that didn’t make it into the show. While Marvel has hundreds of characters at their disposal when it comes to filling the MCU, there are still some characters that cause a number of legal headaches due to copyright ownership. However, it seems that not all of the rejected characters went unused for legal reasons, as some were blocked by Marvel as they ‘had other plans” for them....

ABC will unveil actress Sherri Shepherd as the fifth host of The View on Monday, filling out the cast of the daytime talkshow, according to Variety. The trade paper claims that sources close to the show confirmed Shepherd will become the show’s newest panelist, filling the slot left vacant by Star Jones more than a year ago. ABC had been in talks with Shepherd for some time; they decided to delay her announcement to give incoming moderator Whoopi Goldberg a week to get her footing as the show’s new moderator....

Simon Pegg and Minnie Driver will star in Adam Sigal’s upcoming dark comedy Nandor Fodor And The Talking Mongoose, according to Deadline. Pegg will star as the Hungarian-American psychoanalyst Nandor Fodor and Driver as his assistant Anne. Based on a true story, Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose follows Fodor and Anne as they venture to the Irving family farmhouse to discover the truth about Gef, a talking mongoose-like apparition. Filming for the supernatural tale has recently begun in Leeds....

Filmmakers Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, along with producer Alexander Rodnyansky, have announced that production will commence on the highly anticipated sequel to 2005’s Sin City, entitled Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
