He is best known for his collaborations with macabre genius Tim Burton, but his career goes far beyond their work together. Under his belt is The Simpsons theme song, which has to be one of the most iconic theme songs for television....

The villain song; the song where a villain sings about how nasty they are or what terrible deeds they want to perform throughout the course of the movie. Done right, these songs more often than not, stand out as the best songs of their respective films. While Disney does have a large amount of good villain songs, they are by no means the only place to find some great ones. Here are some of the best villain songs in film....

Eric Kripke doesn’t want to give away too much about what we can expect to see in the new season, but even with a bunch of character arrivals already well-publicized, there have to be some surprises held back. The Good The Bad There would have been a time in my life that I would have seen that a film was coming out starring Harvey Keitel and Robert DeNiro and I would have been there opening day. I would have happily strolled into the theater expecting the Mean Streets magic and when I didn’t get that, I would have left the theater disappointed. Knowing that The Bridge of San Luis Rey was not going to be like this because A) Just look at the poster and you can tell it’s NOTHING like Mean Streets and B) I had seen the 1944 film version of this same movie....

Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, Spy Kids) is back in business with Dimension Films. Rodriguez’s next project will be the futuristic action thriller Nerveracker, which he is writing and directing. The announcement was made today by Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company. Nerveracker is set in the year 2085 and centers on the character Joe Tezca, part of an elite unit who is sent in to stop a crime wave amongst a perfect futuristic society....

While season one of Russian Doll followed Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) reliving the same day, season two allows audiences to watch her time travel through a subway car. Not only does Nadia find herself in 1982, but she is also in someone else’s body: Lenora’s (Chloë Sevigny), her pregnant mother. This forces Nadia to re-evaluate her relationship with her mother. Speaking with Variety, production designer Diane Lederman, who took over from Michael Bricker, discussed what inspired her when creating Russian Doll’s 1980s sets for the new season:...

Chris Pratt will be joined by another big name in the upcoming Garfield reboot. In the animated film, in the works at Alcon Entertainment, Pratt provides the voice of the titular Monday-hating, lasagna-loving feline. Per Deadline, it has now been reported that Samuel L. Jackson has also just boarded the cast, reuniting with his fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe alum. He’ll be voicing Garfield’s father Vic, a new character not featured in the original comic strip....

The pair discuss Woody Allen, luck, and shooting sex scenes in the rain Match Point is Woody Allen’s best film in ten years. It is a dark and insidious departure from his usually light-hearted tone. Allen bases his premise on luck, weaving Scarlett Johansson and Jonathon Rhys-Meyers into an adulterous web. The film is certainly the most explicit role yet for Scarlett. She’s flaunted with more adult themes, but really takes it to another level with this performance....

Comic-Con 2010 marked the debut screening of the eighth entry in the ongoing series of DC Universe Animated Original films, Batman: Under the Red Hood which is coming to DVD and Blu-ray July 27th. The film is based on the popular graphic novel by writer Judd Winick and follows the death of the second Robin and the rise of a new Gotham vigilante called the Red Hood. As Batman comes to terms with his failure to protect his sidekick and faces off with his new rival, hard truths are revealed, old wounds are reopened and the Dark Knight will have to overcome his fears if he hopes to defeat the Red Hood....

Sebastian Stan has spent the last few months claiming that his Marvel future is a mystery to him. Thanks to the recent announcements about the upcoming Thunderbolts movie, we know that is just another load of tripe. Stan, therefore, has now been talking about his next confirmed upcoming project, which is not an appearance in Captain America: New World Order as everyone assumed it would be, and during his interview, Stan even joked that he is so pleased to be finally free of working in Anthony Mackie’s shadow....

Marvel Studios released the brand new trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series, She Hulk: Attorney at Law. As Kevin Feige began laying down the road map of Phase 5 of the MCU, a new trailer released for the upcoming comedy series starring Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters delivered many talking points including the title character’s fourth-wall breaking, an extended appearance by Wong and the surprise arrival of Daredevil. From three-time Oscar nominee John Logan, the Showtime drama series Penny Dreadful debuted to 1.443 million viewers last night, besting the series premieres of recent network dramas Homeland and Masters of Sex by five percent (both delivered 1.38 million) in their first seasons. The series premiere of Penny Dreadful drew 872,000 at 10 p.m. Penny Dreadful, which debuted to wide critical acclaim, was sampled across Showtime On Demand and Showtime in the two weeks leading up to its premiere last night....

With Tarsem Singh’s Untitled Snow White Project scooping up all of the real dwarf actors in Hollywood, director Rupert Sanders is being forced to rely on CGI mixed with some very tall, very great character actors for his Snow White and the Huntsman. The 7th dwarf has finally been cast, and this diminutive warrior will be played by the thick brick house Ray Winstone. Ray Winstone joins Ian McShane, Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan (a great grumpy dwarf if there ever was one), and Stephen Graham as the seven dwarfs who help Snow White (Kristen Stewart) and the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) defeat the Evil Queen (Charlize Theron)....

The cult classic Spider Baby will be remade. Dread Central reports that filmmaker Dustin Ferguson, known for helming indie horror films like Arachnado, Amityville Toybox, and Sleepaway Camp IV: The Survivor, has optioned the rights to the 1967 movie. Word is Ferguson plans to remake the movie under his SoCal Cinema Studios banner with original Spider Baby writer-director Jack Hill on board to executive produce. Spider Baby, aka Spider Baby: or, the Maddest Story Ever Told, stars horror icon Lon Chaney Jr....

The latest image from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse throws Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy back into web-slinging action. Released courtesy of Total Film, the image is another example of the stunning animation that will be on display in the highly anticipated follow-up, which is due to hit screens next year. Major film directors are turning to the small screen including Spike Lee, Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness), P.J. Hogan (My Best Friend’s Wedding), Todd Holland, Alex Graves and Adam Bernstein. Muccino will direct and exec produce CBS and Hugh Jackman’s musical drama, Viva Laughlin. Variety adds Hogan has signed on to direct and exec produce the Barry Josephson-produced Nurses pilot for Fox. As for the other helmers attaching themselves to projects:...

Star Trek 4 is shrouded in mystery and defeat. The sequel to Star Trek: Beyond on J.J. Abram’s Kelvin timeline, is currently stuck in dry dock. There have been plans for Paramount to make the movie for years, and sometimes it even seems like they’re going to do it. Fans were hopeful last year when it looked like things were going to go ahead. But right when the stars aligned, director Matt Shakman stepped down from the project to work on Marvel’s Fantastic Four reboot instead....

During CBS’ upfront presentation last month, the network not only unveiled the first Star Trek Discovery trailer, but they also announced that the first season will be expanded to 15 episodes, debuting this fall, followed by a weekly after-show dubbed Talking Trek.
