U.S. WITHDRAWS FROM IRAQ – REPORTERS, THAT IS Cutbacks at the major TV network news outlets have forced them to pull all of their full-time correspondents out of Iraq in order to cover the growing conflict in Afghanistan, the New York Timesreported today (Monday). The newspaper, citing unnamed network employees, said that the Baghdad bureaus of the networks “are a shadow of what they used to be.” (CNN and Fox News have each assigned one correspondent to Baghdad....

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, they report that DVD has “entered the mature phase.” Apparently, “a new study shows that more U.S. households now own DVD players than VCRs.” According to Nielsen Media Research’s Third Quarter Home Technology Report “as of the third quarter of this year, 81.2% of all households have at least one DVD player, while 79.2% of households have a VCR....

That ’90s Show, the spinoff of the coming-of-age comedy That ’70s Show, just dropped its first teaser trailer. Netflix announced the new series back in October with just a few hints at the cast. CEO of Roddenberry Productions Rod Roddenberry announced today that Roddenberry Productions has entered into a deal with Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Television to develop the Gene Roddenberry pilot The Questor Tapes. The announcement was made at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame induction ceremony where Rod Roddenberry accepted the posthumous honor, presented by Seth MacFarlane, on his father’s behalf. The Questor Tapes was originally conceived as a television series pilot about an android with incomplete memory tapes who searches for his creator and his purpose....

Veteran actor Sam Lloyd, famous for his memorable role as Ted Buckland in the comedy series Scrubs, has sadly passed away. In early 2019, Lloyd was diagnozed with an inoperable brain tumor, with the grim news coming just a matter of weeks after the birth of his son Weston with wife Vanessa. Scrubs producer Tim Hobert and his wife rushed to lend some support to Lloyd by creating a GoFundMe page to help pay for Lloyd’s medical bills and other expenses, ultimately raising over $150,000....

Netflix is set to re-imagine the 80s classic cartoon, She-Ra and unleash a brand new series in 2018. She-Ra is a fictional character in the Filmation cartoon She-Ra: Princess of Power, debuting in 1985. A series of toys under her name were produced by Mattel. She is the alter ego of Princess Adora and the twin sister of Prince Adam/He-Man. She-Ra was intended to appeal to young girls in the same way that He-Man and the Masters of the Universe appealed to young boys....

Following the success of their freshman film, Half Nelson, the second feature from Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, Sugar has been acquired by Sony Pictures Classics for North American and Latin American Distribution rights from HBO Films. Sony is in final talks to acquire a pitch from screenwriter Sheldon Turner to adapt Jeffrey Archer’s historical novel, Paths of Glory about the mystery surrounding Mount Everest climber George Mallory’s 1924 ascent. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mallory’s legacy involves the possibility that he – and not Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953 – was the first man to reach the summit of the Nepalese peak. Mallory made several attempts, and competed with Australian climber George Finch, who first used oxygen, but he and his partner Andrew Irvine never returned from their June 1924 climb....

Spider-Man: No Way Home is less than a week away from the theatrical release, but the casting rumors on the films don’t seem to stop. The Spider-Man fans and especially the fans of the idea of Marvel’s multiverse have worked upon numerous theories and have decoded posters and trailers to figure out who might just show up in the film. The penultimate season of Netflix’s original Stranger Things has finally wrapped up with the introduction of the prime antagonist from The Upside Down, Vecna.
