Comparable to PorcFest, which occurs in New Hampshire, Anarchapulco boasts one of the largest attendance numbers among these kinds of festivals....

The Los Angeles Times has revealed two images of the Batpod, Bruce Wayne’s high-tech motorcycle from the upcoming Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight. The superhero film stars Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Eric Roberts, Anthony Michael Hall and Nestor Carbonell. In the film, the Batpod will be equipped with the usual motorcycle add-ons that you can get from your local Harley-Davidson deal … you know: grappling hooks, cannons and machine guns....

The Weinstein Company (TWC) announced today that it has acquired from Submarine Entertainment all rights to The Bully Project, the acclaimed new documentary from Emmy and Sundance award-winning filmmaker Lee Hirsch (Amandla! A Revolution in Four Part Harmony) that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday, April 23. The deal covers all rights in North America, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Germany. TWC also acquired the film’s distribution rights for pan-Asian satellite TV, and will be the sales agent for the remaining global territories....

So many of those who knew and loved Betty White are paying tribute after the comedy icon’s death and Rue McClanahan’s estate honored the Golden Girls star in a touching way. While everyone from The Golden Girls kept in touch in the years after the show ended, White and McClanahan were particularly close. They had remained friends until McClanahan’s passing in 2010, which was rather hard on White at the time....

It’s been over a decade since the first Puss in Boots film, and the long-awaited sequel, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish leaps into theaters tomorrow. Actress Salma Hayek, who voices Kitty Softpaws in the animated adventure, spoke with Collider about the film, saying that not having to rush the film gave them time to explore the characters: Anyone who enjoyed the first Puss in Boots film as a kid (or the related Shrek movies) is likely grown up by now, but The Last Wish is another movie intended for all ages, especially considering the story....

MTV caught up Spider-Man 3 director Sam Raimi last week, who revealed that he is not sure whether he will return to direct a fourth film in the franchise. “Sony Pictures is going to be making many more Spider-Man pictures,” Raimi told MTV News. “I just don’t know what [my] future holds yet.” Of the already announced Spider-Man 4, he said “If I can’t find the right story that would work for me and that I could tell really well, I would like someone else to tell that story … But if it’s a great story and Sony will bring me back to the screen, I would love to....

Sam Raimi would like to direct a Stephen King movie, he revealed to Cinemablend during a press day interview for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. When asked what particular King novels he would be interested in, he mentioned his favorites, some of which have already been adapted for the screen by previous filmmakers. Raimi gained popularity after writing, directing and executive producing 1981’s The Evil Dead, the cult classic starring Raimi’s friend Bruce Campbell as Ash....

There are many stories behind why certain actors end up starring in some movies, and it looks like Brad Pitt’s appearance in The Lost City has such a story. The new comedy adventure movie starring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tanum arrives in theaters this month, and according to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, the inclusion of Pitt came down to a pep talk by their mutual hairdresser. Originally called The Lost City of D, after the title of a book that features in the movie, The Lost City sees Bullock playing an author is kidnapped by Daniel Radcliffe’s Abigail Fairfax, who wants her to tell him the location of a fabled lost city that appears in her latest novel....

With more and more attention and grandeur circling the Berlin International Film Festival (otherwise known as the Berlinale) these days, the films vying to participate in this prestigious event are also gathering bountiful recognition. One that’s especially in the spotlight is Rebecca Miller’s latest project; She Came to Me. In the third episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, the Marvel Cinematic Universe series currently being released for streaming on Disney+, “The People vs. Emil Blonsky,” the eponymous jade giantess is confronted by a team of four antagonists near the conclusion of the story. 1986’s Short Circuit is a cute, sometimes funny riff on E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial that never feels dangerous or all that threatening given the fact that it basically falls in line with The Terminator’s backstory in terms of non-sentient beings gaining intelligence. Johnny 5 becomes self aware, but he wants to love, not destroy the human race. Director Tim Hill, whose last project was the fluffy Easter themed comedy Hop, is hoping to change that with his upcoming Short Circuit remake....

On March 4, 2022, that honor was officially passed to Nosferatu. Nosferatu is a milestone in more ways than one, and the story of its creation is just as interesting as the story it depicts. While the film is a loose adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel, Dracula, inspiration for the film actually started from The Great War (WW1)....

Tails will have a familiar voice in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Voiceover artist Colleen O’Shaughnessey, who has provided the voice of Tails in the Sonic video games, announced on Twitter that she will officially voice the character in the movie as well. There was speculation that she would be voicing Tails in the movie, but the casting has been confirmed with her announcement. “Taking my old pal Tails for another adventure....

Sony Pictures Entertainment will use 4K digital technology in the making of most of its filmed productions, it was announced by Sony Electronics. “With the industry moving rapidly to embrace the improvement in quality that digital cinema can offer, we believe that 4K resolution gives audiences the best seat in the house,” said Gary Martin, president of Production Administration and Studio Operations for Sony Pictures Entertainment. “That’s why we will be making more of our filmed productions at full 4K resolution, scanning at 4K, using a 4K workflow process, and releasing a 4K DCP to theaters....

South Park will be returning next month with its second-ever hourlong special, dubbed South ParQ: The Vaccination Special. Scheduled to premiere on March 10, the episode follows last year’s hourlong Pandemic Special that pulled in high ratings and critical praise. This time, we can presume that Cartman and the others in South Park will be taking aim at the significant events of recent months, most obviously the rollout of the coronavirus vaccine....

South Park returned to Comedy Central this week with the premiere of its 23rd season, and the episode puts the spotlight on ICE and the treatment of immigrants in the United States. Because of the highly controversial practice of placing immigrants in “detention centers” which are eerily reminiscent of concentration camps, ICE and the Trump Administration have come under a lot of fire from the American public. The issue is a primary source of the great political divide that has taken place in the United States, as those opposing the practice find it completely unacceptable for others to support it....
