MTV has learned that actor Brad Pitt has signed on for a leading role in World War Z, the oral history of the zombie war which chronicles a worldwide zombie outbreak through the first-hand accounts of survivors. In addition, Paramount has optioned the movie rights to two more of his projects: “The Zombie Survival Guide” and “The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks” graphic novel. Paramount Pictures is eyeing a 2012 start date....

Fox Searchlight Pictures President Peter Rice and Warner Bros. Pictures Group President Jeff Robinov announced today that the companies have joined forces on the North American release of Slumdog Millionaire. Fox Searchlight Pictures will handle marketing and distribution of the film. Directed by Danny Boyle and written by Simon Beaufoy, Slumdog Millionaire stars Dev Patel, Madhur Mittal, Freida Pinto, Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan. The film is based on the best selling novel Q&A by Vikas Swarup....

The Duffer Brothers have found themselves in some controversy for pushing an unscripted kiss between two teenage actors on the set of Stranger Things Season 2. The news came during Netflix’s after show for the hit series, “Beyond Stranger Things.” Sadie Sink, who plays Max, revealed that the kiss was unscripted and that it really “stressed” her out the day of the shoot. The 15-year old actress, who was 14 at the time, openly blamed the Duffer Brothers for springing the kiss on them early in the morning before production had begun....
Production is underway on the Season 3 of HBO/Cinemax’s breakout drama series Strike Back, it was announced today by Kary Antholis, president of HBO Miniseries and Cinemax Programming.
