After delivering one of the most controversial horror movie’s in years, Terrifier 2 writer-director Damien Leone is preparing to do it all over again with two more movies, but says that Terrifier 4 will most likely be the final gory chapter in the story of Art the Clown, Victoria, The Pale Girl, and Sienna Shaw. Although it is hard to imagine that the future installments can be anywhere near as boundary-pushing as what has gone before, it seems that Leone is contemplating just how many movies it will take to tell the rest of the tale that has been chopping their way around his head....

Netflix has greenlit The Abandons, an all-new western drama series from Kurt Sutter. Previously announced as in development last year, the show has now gotten its official series order at Netflix for a freshman season consisting of ten episodes. Sutter serves as showrunner for the western in addition to executive producing, marking the latest series he’s helped to create following the hit show Sons of Anarchy and its spinoff series Mayans M....

Drafthouse Films, Timpson Films and Magnet Releasing are teaming up for a project called The ABCs of Death, bringing together 26 different directors to create short films, each based on a letter of the alphabet, featuring “death in all its vicious wonder and brutal beauty.” Production begins next month, with completion slated for January 2012. A mix of 25 established and emerging filmmakers will take part in the series with a 26th yet to be named as part of a world wide competition....

The Blair Witch Project Co-creator, Dan Myrick, announced that he is conducting an open casting call for his upcoming production, The Objective, using an abazab Playbox. Actors will be able to submit their auditions directly to Dan and his Gearhead Pictures Team either via file upload or by recording directly into the Playbox using a web cam or iSight. Casting calls require actors to drive long distances, fight for parking, and wait in line for hours before the audition....

Homelander will soon meet his match in The Boys Season 3, with Supernatural star Jensen Ackles due to join the pantheon of horrible super “heroes” as the mysterious Soldier Boy. Speaking with Total Film, The Boys creator Eric Kripke has described Soldier Boy as “Homelander before Homelander.” A terrifyingly ominous summary if there ever were one. “He’s the only one as powerful as Homelander. First Look Home Entertainment and Nu Image / Millennium Films are jumping into the high definition market with the DVD premiere of The Contract. The film, which stars Morgan Freeman and John Cusack, will get the complete high definition treatment with better visuals, enhanced sound and packed with extras.The film will be available on July 24, 2007 in standard DVD and HD-DVD versions. “We chose The Contract as our first high definition release because of its star-power and the added features we could offer in the format,” says First Look Studios COO Dean Wilson....

Chicago-born actor and comedian Robin Williams initially became known for his ability in both improv and stand-up comedy, first attracting viewers with a title role in the 1978 sitcom Mork and Mindy. Filming has begun on the comedy All About Steve, starring Sandra Bullock, Thomas Haden Church and Bradley Cooper. Ken Jeong, DJ Qualls, newcomer Katy Mixon, and Howard Hesseman co-star. Denis Villeneuve’s hit drama Sicario seemed to come out of nowhere, but it has already spawned two sequels – one yet to be released. With Andrew Garfield already set to play Peter Parker in Marc Webb’s Untitled Spider-Man Reboot, the casting has now shifted to the female lead character, Gwen Stacy. Heat Vision Blog is reporting that Emma Roberts, Teresa Palmer, Imogen Poots, Ophelia Lovibond, Lily Collins and Mary Elizabeth Winstead are a few of the actresses vying for the role. The site reports that the actresses have been meeting with both director Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield and that the new film will feature Gwen Stacy, who was portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard in Spider-Man 3, as Peter Parker’s love interest instead of Mary Jane Watson....

Starstruck is a British show that is created, written, and starring the New Zealander actress Rose Matafeo. Jessie (Matafeo) is a woman without a clear purpose, living in London who, on New Year’s Eve, has a one-night stand with Tom (Nikesh Patel), a movie star (although Jessie doesn’t know that). They get sucked into each other’s orbit, sometimes seeing each other, sometimes fighting, sometimes pining for one another. The show has a premise similar to Notting Hill (a nobody starts dating a movie star), but it does many different things with that premise through its 12 half-hour episodes, and two seasons....
