Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut, How to Catch a Monster, will star Christina Hendricks in the lead role. Marc Platt and Adam Siegel will produce on behalf of Marc Platt Productions, along with Ryan Gosling via his Phantasma Films banner, and Michel Litvak and David Lancaster via the Bold Films banner. Sierra / Affinity will handle international sales for the film which will be made available to buyers for the first time at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival....

Following The Walking Dead Season 8 Comic-Con trailer that was unveiled last week during the show’s annual Hall H panel, AMC has released four new photos from the upcoming season, slated to debut on Sunday, October 22 at 9 PM ET on AMC. The photos features characters from both sides of the impending “All Out War,” as they get ready for battle. The photos include Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Carol (Melissa McBride), Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Dwight (Austin Amelio), Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Tara (Alanna Masterson)....

Snoops Dogg and Kevin Hart will be returning for a special talk show to wrap up the year on Peacock. Previously, they had done something similar on the channel, by hilariously reporting the highlights of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on Peacock’s Summer Special. The upcoming special, named 2021 and Done with Snoop Dogg and Kevin Hart, will offer an edgy, insightful, and hilarious retrospective of the year in a similarly hilarious fashion....

Spoiler Warning: Snowpiercer Season 3 When the third season of Snowpiercer aired earlier this year on TNT, fans were instantly hooked. The class warfare, social issues, and power struggles between Layton and Wilford were only intensified from where they were in the first and second seasons. Snowpiercer has not lost its forward momentum (pun intended), and as one of TNT’s flagship scripted series, it makes sense that a fourth season was ordered before the third season premiered....

A hugely exciting project courtesy of Moon Knight creator and head writer Jeremy Slater and horror producer James Wan is on the cinematic horizon. Titled Thread, not much is known about the project outside of a tantalizing description which calls the movie “Back to The Future meets Aliens.” Frankly, we don’t need to know anymore, and that should be more than enough information to ensure our attendance. The Back to The Future meets Aliens project, the scant details of which were unveiled by Deadline, is being developed by Sony, and will see Jeremy Slater, the head writer for Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight on board to write the script for Thread and direct....

The pairing of Peter Parker and Doctor Strange will be far more complicated than a mentor-mentee relationship in Spider-Man: No Way Home, according to Tom Holland. The actor has revealed that the partnership “breaks down” in the upcoming Marvel sequel, and that, unlike previous rumors which claimed Benedict Cumberbatch’s The Sorcerer Supreme would become the new Tony Stark to Holland’s Peter Parker, this is far from the case. Directed by Jon Watts and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: No Way Home finds Peter Parker asking Doctor Strange to help make his identity as Spider-Man a secret following its public revelation, which leads to the madness of the multiverse being unleashed....

Star Wars has created a universe that people around the world have fallen in love with. Fans watch their favorite Jedi take on the latest Sith Lord as they try and restore peace to the galaxy. Each movie or TV series comes with its own epic soundtrack and, even better, theme song. Classic FM describes the soundtracks in Star Wars as a “space opera,” and John Williams’ music had just enough drama to bring George Lucas’ vision to life....

The Nanny Diaries,starring Scarlett Johansson, is expected to vie for third place with Mr. Bean’s Holiday, starring Rowan Atkinson....

EARTH STOOD STILL EARTH-SHAKING AT BOX OFFICE The Day the Earth Stood Stilldid indeed turn out to be critic-proof, as many box-office analysts had predicted. After being pounded by reviewers on Friday, the movie went on to earn an estimated $31 million in ticket sales over the weekend. After holding on to the top spot for the previous two weekends, Four Christmases slipped to second place with $13.3 million. The romantic comedy starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn brought its three-week gross to $88 million....

COURIC TRIES TO MUTE WILL-SHE-OR-WON’T-SHE TALKReporters hoping to question Katie Couric about persistent reports that she is about to jump ship at NBC in order to anchor the CBS Evening Newsand become a 60 Minutescorrespondent were stymied Thursday when Couric headed them off at the pass. BATTLE OF SUPERHEROES TAKING SHAPE Warner Bros. executive Diane Nelson may well be sporting a “This Is a Job for Superman!” t-shirt any day soon, after Time Warner named her to head its newly formed DC Entertainment division. Nelson, who has been responsible for managing the studio’s Harry Potter franchise, is expected to revive long-shelved DC Comics properties and return such DC characters as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and others to the screen....

CBS has reported that Taylor Swift, the best-selling musical artist of 2008, will guest appear on an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation on CBS Television Network. Taylor will play Haley Jones, a teenaged girl whose family runs a seedy Vegas motel. Over the course of a year, Haley goes through a series of changes that have tragic consequences. Nineteen-year-old Taylor Swift currently has singles climbing both the country and pop radio charts, and sold more albums in 2008 than any other recording artist, in any genre of music....

Looking back at Terminator: Dark Fate in hindsight, director Tim Miller says it was “wrong” for him to try and relaunch the franchise. In 2019, the sixth Terminator film was released, bringing back Arnold Schwarzenegger once again alongside returning Terminator 2 star Linda Hamilton. The goal was for the film to resurrect the franchise and if the film was well-received, more sequels could be made. That’s not quite how things turned out....

Production has started on That ’90s Show. In development at Netflix, the new show serves as a spinoff of That ’70s Show with Red and Kitty Forman actors Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp reprising their roles. Both are currently on set and each has taken to Instagram to share the first set photos with production commencing. Smith’s image, which you can see below, includes a peek at the script that’s on his actor’s chair....

Director Tony Gilroy reportedly wants to cast Australian actor Joel Edgerton (Animal Kingdom) in the lead role of Universal Pictures’ The Bourne Legacy. However, the studio is also considering the actor to play The Huntsman in their upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman. We reported last month that Joel Edgerton was a contender for The Bourne Legacy lead along with Garrett Hedlund, Dominic Cooper, Luke Evans, Shia LaBeouf and Taylor Kitsch....

Empire Online recently caught up with actor Ryan Reynolds and chatted with him about the upcoming Deadpool movie.
