Spike Lee has signed on to direct a feature on the life of James Brown for Paramount and Imagine Entertainment. Brian Grazer is producing, and the pic could be in production by late next year, though 2008 is more likely, according to Variety. Steven Spielberg will be honored at next January’s Golden Globe Awards telecast with the Cecil B. DeMille Award for his “outstanding contribution to the entertainment field.” The award, voted by the Board of Directors of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, was announced at a morning press conference by Josh Brolin. Get ready to see a lot more of the Man of Steel and the Daily Planet’s best journalist on the small screen, as The CW has ordered the planned Supergirl spin-off Superman & Lois to series.
