NBC LAYS ON THE SILVERMAN TOUCH Meeting with TV newspaper columnists and critics for the first time on Monday, NBC Entertainment Co-chairman Ben Silverman ticked off a slew of major changes that the network will undergo under his aegis. Among them: Jerry Seinfeld will appear in a recurring role (as himself) on 30 Rock starting with the season premiere; Isaiah Washington, dumped from Grey’s Anatomy in the wake of an anti-gay slur directed at a fellow cast member, will guest star on the upcoming Bionic Womanseries; Norman Lear, the creator of such trailblazing shows as All in the Family, The Jeffersons, and Maude will produce a new one-hour comedy for the network; and The Apprenticewill return with a celebrity version....

DECK THE WALLS WITH HDTV Retailers plan to entice customers into their stores over “Black Friday” by offering high-definition TV sets with little or no price markups, news reports said today (Thursday). A few retailers will be opening their doors today, Thanksgiving Day, offering specials that they hope will lure people out of their homes just as soon as the holiday turkey is done. Kmart is offering a 32-inch flat-screen HDTV for $419....

A hit CW series is getting a release in 1080p this November. Supernatural: The Complete Third Season will be released on Blu-Ray on November 11. The standard edition Supernatural: The Complete Third Season was previously announced for release on September 2. The three-disc Blu-Ray set will be priced at $79.95 SRP and will include all 16 episodes of this latest season. The series stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. The yellow-eyed demon is vanquished, but at a terrible price....

Taraji P. Henson, Cedric The Entertainer, and Mike Epps are joining previously announced stars Don Cheadle and Chiwetel Ejiofor in the cast of Kasi Lemmons’ Talk to Me, Focus Features president of production John Lyons announced. Focus will domestically distribute the film, which Sidney Kimmel Entertainment (SKE) is producing with the Mark Gordon Company. Actor Shia LaBeouf is set to star in the political thriller The Company You Keep alongside Robert Redford.
