With awards season just around the corner, one of the funner award shows has just announced its list of 2009 nominees. Its Spike TV’s 2009 Scream Awards, which honors the best in sci-fi and horror. Disney has unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming animated series Star Wars Resistance, which shows off the exciting tone of the series and the new animation style that is unlike any other style of animation we’ve seen from a Star Wars series. MAKE AN OFFER In a sign that even the most sought-after programming can find no safe haven during the current economic downturn, Advertising Ageis reporting that CBS is considering taking bids for spots on next year’s Super Bowl. Citing people familiar with the negotiations, the trade publication said that instead of going to ad buyers with an average price for a spot, CBS sales staff is telling buyers that it will work with them to create ad packages around the event, then negotiate a price....

CBS HAS ITS UPS AND DOWNS Shares of CBS Corp. may be way down in the overall market slump – they had dropped 4.30 percent at midday trading today (Wednesday) – but the company’s Nielsen ratings have rarely risen higher this year than they did last week. CBS captured four of the top-five programs, including No. 1, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which drew 23.5 million, and, for the first time, beat ABC rival Grey’s Anatomy among adults 18-49....

He was a 15-year veteran of the United States Army, and after his retirement from the service in 1998, he founded Def Con 5 Inc., a company that provides weapons and training to film and television productions.
